Vanity Vr10 Review

Vanity by Jopen is a relatively new line of luxury sex toys. They were released last year, but this is the first time I have had the chance to review one. I really like rabbit vibrators so I chose the Vanity Vr10 from FunWares.

Vanity-Vr10-Vibrator

The Vanity line is made by Jopen, a company owned by California Exotic Novelties, a very large manufacturer of sex toys. Not known for making high end sex toys, California Exotics has branched out by making Jopen their luxury line of toys. I am not a huge fan of California Exotic Novelties products so I was curious to see how the Jopen line would measure up.

The Vanity Vr10 is made of magenta silicone. The color is very bright, almost garish, so if you like bright colors you’ll be pleased. The silicone is odorless and tasteless (yes, I have tasted it) and surprisingly squishy. There is no hard core down the center of the shaft so the silicone is very pliable about halfway down until you hit the area that conceals the motor. The rest of the shaft, including the handle area, is completely hard. There is a seam that runs all along the shaft and though I feel this seam easily with my fingers, my body doesn’t feel it when I am playing with the vibrator. This silicone does have a tendency to pick up loose hair and lint but it is not an insane lint magnet like some silicone sex toys I have.

Silicone is latex and phthalate-free, non-porous, hypoallergenic, and body-safe. This makes it very safe to use as a material for sex toys. As it can be sterilized, you can also use the Vanity Vr10 between non-fluid bonded partners. This vibrator is a little over 9.5″ long, with about 5.5″ of the shaft being insertble, and is 1.75″ in diameter at its thickest point. The rabbit stimulator is about 4″ long.

The Vanity Vr10 is completely waterproof, which makes cleaning it super easy. You can wash it with warm water and antibacterial soap, use your favorite sex toy cleaner, or sterilize it with a 10% bleach solution. However, do not wash it in the dishwasher or boil it as this would likely destroy the dual motors. Also be sure to store your Vanity Vr10 away from other silicone toys. Silicone does not react well when mixed with other silicone. A chemical reaction can cause the silicone to melt and become tacky. For this reason it is best to use water-based lubricant with your Vanity Vr10 rather than silicone-based. As this silicone has a fair amount of drag to it, you do want to use some lube with it. If you are determined to use a silicone-based lube, do a small patch test at the base of the vibrator to see how the two react.

I love my rechargeable vibrators and the Vanity Vr10 is rechargeable. It comes with a charging cradle that plugs into the wall while the vibrator sits in the cradle for charging. There are two rows of LEDs that glow red when the vibrator is charging and turn white when it is fully charged. You want to charge your Vanity Vr10 for four hours the very first time. The cradle is a really nice way to charge the vibrator. It’s easy to use and it works well.

As I mentioned previously, the Vanity Vr10 has dual motors, one in the shaft and one in the clit stimulator. In addition, the shaft rotates. There are two separate buttons that control these functions. The top button operates the rotating shaft and the bottom button is for the vibrating motors. These buttons are located on the base of the shaft and are easy to press. To turn the motor on and off you simply press the button. To incrementally increase the speed of the rotation or the power of the motor you hold the button down. There is no way to decrease speed or power other than turning the motor off and back on again. Each time you restart, the Vanity Vr10 will begin at the lowest level. You can run the rotating shaft and the vibrating motors together or separately.

You can lock the Vanity Vr10 for storage or travel which is very cool, but I find the lock difficult to turn on. You must press down on both buttons for four seconds. This is tricky because if you don’t do it just right one or both of the motors will turn on. I find it quite frustrating that it takes so long to lock the damn thing and makes me feel like an idiot in the bargain. However, the LED lights up to let you know the lock has been activated, which I do appreciate.

The Vanity Vr10 claims to be whisper quiet but I have to totally disagree with that. When it is on and outside of my body I can hear it through my closed bedroom door. Of course, it is much quieter when it is inside me and pressed up against my body but it is definitely not a quiet vibrator. However, the Vanity Vr10 is quite powerful so I don’t really mind the noise, nor do I find it distracting during play.

As I said, I find the motors impressively powerful and the shaft has a good range of motion. I really need to grip the base hard when the shaft is rotating to make sure it’s the shaft that rotates inside me and not the base rotating outside my body. When I do this I can really feel the shaft moving inside, especially at the higher levels. The clit stimulator is also very strong. The vibrations are not exactly deep side nor are they very buzzy but more mid-range. However, they do get buzzier the higher they go.

The second motor is located in the shaft of the Vanity Vr10. However, between the rotating shaft and clit vibrations there is so much going on I don’t necessarily notice the vibration from the second motor so I’m not sure how necessary or beneficial it is for me. There are three ridges on the shaft that look like they should be felt but they really don’t do much for me at all. I’m not sure if it’s the placement or just my body but I don’t notice them during play.

The packaging for the Vanity Vr10 is not what I expected from a sex toy in this price range. The vibrator and its bits come in a large cardboard box with a sheet that lists the vibrator’s features and a little booklet that shows the entire Vanity line and with one page of instructions. Also included in the box are the charger, charging cradle and velveteen storage bag. The packaging is adequate but it’s not very nice. Mine is already quite banged up. Of course packaging is not that important it’s just that I expect more from such an expensive product.

Vanity Vr10 Pros:
• Silicone
• Waterproof
• Rechargeable
• Powerful
• Storage bag
• One year warranty

Vanity Vr10 Cons:
• Price
• Have to hold the base very tightly
• Noisy
• Travel lock is a challenge
• Doesn’t feel as luxurious as expected

While the Vanity Vr10 is a solid rabbit vibrator, the price tag and a few details make it difficult to recommend wholeheartedly. I like that it is silicone but it has a slightly rubbery feel to it and the vibrator as a whole doesn’t feel as high-end as the price would suggest. The packaging certainly leaves much to be desired for such an expensive sex toy. Of course, who buys toys for the packaging? It’s not a perfect fit for my body, though it does get me off. On the other hand, it is totally waterproof, rechargeable, and very powerful. I like the Vanity Vr10 but it doesn’t wow me, and at this price it should.

Check out the Vanity Vr10 and and the rest of the Vanity line at FunWares. They also have a ton of other rabbit vibrators in many different price ranges. Shipping is always fast and discreet and FunWares has super low prices.

I love all of my Jopen toys, but I’m so on the fence about the rotating rabbits. I’m especially not sure I want one now that you say you have to grip it so tightly.

I do have a question. I got to play with some of these at a store in the area not that long ago. I found that on some of them I could slow the rotation down a lot with my hands. If you clench down on this one when you actually use it do the rotations seem to slow down or stop? Sometimes ability to stop with my hands doesn’t translate into stopping with my PC muscles and I couldn’t ask them if I could use their restroom to test it. LOL

This is my first Jopen toy and I am impressed with its power.

The rotations don’t stop when I clench down on the Vr10 during use but they do slow a little on the low speeds. I haven’t noticed this happening on the higher speeds. However, some of the rotation does move to the base which is why I have to grip it so tightly to make sure the shaft rotates inside me.

  • Kira says:

Hmm. I’m not sure if that’s better or worse than the rotations stopping. lol That sounds really irritating.

    • Beanfiddler says:

I think it’s better than completely stopping because that would just drive me crazy and the rotations only slow down a bit. Nothing for me to cry about like with some other vibes I’ve tried. :)
