Have you all heard of PAPAYA Toys? They make some great little (or should I say big?) vibrators and the Candy Stick is my newest acquisition.

Usually I like to talk about packaging. However, PAPAYA Toys has just changed their packaging and since I have the old stuff, there is really no point in showing it to you. I will say I am quite impressed with the quality and can’t wait to see what they’ve come up with. However, the Candy Stick comes with a black satin drawstring bag that is awesome for storage. I know I am repeating myself, but all toys should come with storage bags!

The Candy Stick Vibrator is made of medical grade silicone, always an excellent choice for a sex toy. Silicone is latex-free, phthalate-free, hypoallergenic, and body safe. It is also very easy to care for and clean. The silicone runs down the fell length of the vibrator, including the handle, with the exception of the purple plastic ring around the shaft. The battery compartment has a giant o-ring and screws on very tightly to make the Candy Stick waterproof.

I love waterproof sex toys simply for the convenience of cleaning, but you can also take this puppy into the bath or shower. I am always hesitant to submerge threaded vibrators, even those that are waterproof. However, the Candy Stick Vibrator does a good job of keeping liquid out. After my first outing with it, I washed it thoroughly in the sink and dried it off. When I opened the battery compartment, there was a ring of water just inside the threads, but held back from the actual compartment by the large threads and o-ring.

As it is silicone, use only water-based lubricant with the Candy Stick Vibrator. Its silicone is smoother than most so you may not need that much depending on how slippery you want your play time to be. I find I need very little, if any, combined with my own wetness. This silicone gets very slick with my natural lubrication. While it does attract some particles from the air (and my hair which is just shedding all over everything!), it is not the lint magnet most of my silicone sex toys are which is a big plus.

As you can see, it is a gorgeous shade of apple green with a purple stripe. It also comes in strawberry and grape. The Candy Stick is 10″ long, with 6 1/2″ insertable, and 1 3/4″in diameter. It’s larger than most of my vibrators and something about this one just makes it look huge. I mean it is on the longer and girthier side but when I opened the box I was a little wowed. I couldn’t decide if it was one of those giant, well…candy sticks you get at Disneyland, or an alien penis.

I love the bigger size of the Candy Stick Vibrator. Many insertables don’t have much of a handle so my hand ends up getting slimy and slippery. Then I have trouble thrusting or pressing the buttons which just makes me sad. There is a good 3 1/2″ of handle to hold onto here which makes using the Candy Stick a particular delight to use. Weighing in at approximately 15 ounces, it is definitely on the heavy side. I thought it might make my wrist sore during play but that doesn’t seem to happen. It is well balanced and most of the weight seems to be managed by my body.

The Candy Stick runs on two AA batteries, though the the vibrations seem to indicate quite a bit more power. So does the noise. This vibrator is on the noisy side. I can hear it slightly even when it’s inside me so it’s not something I can play with sneakily while My Man is laying beside me. However, it cannot be heard through my bedroom door.

I particularly like the battery compartment for its cartridge. You put your batteries in the battery cartridge that fits inside the battery compartment in either direction. Yes, it’s reversible! This is great because it makes it very easy to store the batteries outside of the vibrator and inside your storage bag when it is not is use. This will prolong the life of your batteries and your Candy Stick Vibrator. As a nice touch, the battery compartment is purple to match the purple contrast stripe around the shaft of the toy. While I love my rechargeable vibrators, it is great to have some battery-operated options as well. Rechargeables have to be charged, obviously, and sometimes I don’t want to wait around to charge them.

The motor is in the base of the shaft leaving the bulk of the length more flexible and giving. However, the vibrations are somehow magically focused in the slightly curved tip. The vibrations are pleasantly strong and deep. I love the third setting on my clit and no matter how long i play my my hand does not go numb.

The control panel consists of a large double-sided button on the base of the handle. Use the left side of the button to turn on the Candy Stick and cycle through the three functions with a simple click. Press and hold to increase the intensity of any function. To decrease the intensity, press and hold the right side of the button. A simple click of the right button will turn the vibrator off.

At first I found the control panel a bit confusing. I wanted to click through the intensity levels and hold down to turn off the vibrator. It seemed counter-intuitive as it’s the opposite of many of my other vibrators. However, I did adjust quickly. The one click off button is a bit like an emergency brake. You can turn the Candy Stick off really quickly if someone happens to walk into the room and interrupt you. It also has a memory function. The vibrator remembers where you were, what function and intensity level you were on, and goes right back to it when you turn it back on no matter how long you’ve been away.

The Candy Stick Vibrator has three different modes with varying intensity.
1. Steady vibration
2. Short pulses
3. Pulse pattern, one long and four short pulses

There is a very slight curve to the tip of the Candy Stick which allows it to curl over my labia and clit nicely. However, it is not curvy enough to hit my g-spot. I’m a big fan of texture and I love the swirls on this vibrator. I can really feel the them against and inside me as I work the Candy Stick in and out. They feel amazing against my labia as the silicone gets all slicked up with my own juices.

While the Candy Stick vibrator is a little on the noisy side for my taste, it has more than enough positive qualities to make up for this. I really like the slick silicone and how it isn’t the typical lint magnet. I love the size, both length and girth. I love the silicone handle and the battery compartment. It is just a smartly designed and good looking vibrator.
