I have long been a fan from afar of LELO Pleasure Objects. I do own a few but the LELO Elise is my first LELO review, courtesy of Holistic Wisdom.
The LELO Elise vibrator is 8 1/4″ long with 5 1/4″ being insertable. It is 1 1/4″ in diameter at its widest point and and weighs approximately 1 1/2 pounds. Mine is a very pretty dark plum color, but it also comes in black. Elise is made of a soft touch silicone that is solid to the touch. LELO uses very high-grade silicone in their sex toys and you can tell simply by the feel of them. LELO silicone is silky smooth and is not the lint magnet that some other high-grade silicones can be. Of course, silicone is an excellent choice for sex toys as it is latex and phthalate-free, non-porous, hypoallergenic, and body-safe.
Silicone is easy to clean but be cautious when washing Elise as it is splash proof only, a downside as far as I am concerned. Be sure not to get moisture into the charging port or near the control panel. You may want to consider sex toy wipes or spray. Of course, you can use water and antibacterial soap (as recommended by LELO) to clean your Elise, just be careful. You can also use a 10% bleach solution on the silicone shaft of the vibrator to sterilize it if you are sharing between non fluid-bonded partners. Remember to always wash your sex toys before and after use.
LELO recommends using water-based lubricant with the Elise. If you do want to try silicone-based lube, be sure to do a patch test first. You don’t want the silicone of the vibrator bonding with the silicone-based lube and going tacky.
Charging is easy. You simply plug the charger into the the end of the vibrator. When charging the LELO Elise, the LED circle around the control panel will pulse with white light. Charging for approximately three hours will give you a full charge which should last about four hours. When the battery is low, the LED will shine red to let you know it is time to charge your Elise. I love this feature because it means I will never run out of juice during play, which is so not fun. The LED also lights up when you press the buttons on the control panel.
Speaking of the control panel, it is a large circular button that can be pressed in all four directions. The right side is the + button, the left side the – button, and top and bottom of the circle are up and down. You turn on the Elise by pressing and holding down the + button. Use the + button to cycle up through the (I count) five levels of steady vibration. Cycle down and turn off the vibrator by pressing the – button. Now the LELO Elise has two separate motors, one in the crown of the shaft and one at the base. It also has five vibrational patterns in addition to the steady vibrations. You control these patterns by using the up and down arrow buttons.
1. Crown motor on only
2. Base motor on only
3. Crown and Base, short alternating pulses
4. Crown and Base, longer alternating pulses
5. Crown and Base motors on
One very cool thing about the LELO Elise is it’s travel lock which allows you to lock the controls to keep the vibrator from turning on while it is in your luggage or in storage. Simply push down on the center of the control panel for five seconds to deactivate it and lock it down. Do the same thing to unlock it. Now, I said simply, though I do find it a bit tricky to not turn the vibrator on while I am doing this. However, with some practice it does get easier.
My LELO Elise arrived discreetly, shipped via U.S. Postal Service. It was wrapped in a pretty purple bag with a Holistic Wisdom sticker on it. If you have any LELO toys, you are familiar with LELO’s classy packaging. It is some of the nicest packing out there, in my humble opinion. The external box is a shiny lightweight cardboard and has an image of the Elise Vibrator on it. My box is plum on three sides and white on the back. I am guessing the black vibrator comes in a black box. It is mostly discreet but it does say, “Dual Vibrator Arrangement” on the sides. My favorite part of the box is where it says, “Intuitive Interface Dial- Total Control in Lustful Situations.” Lustful situations…I just love that!
Inside the paper box is the beautiful black pressed cardboard box that LELO seems to favor. This box is very discreet, with only “LELO” stamped into the lid. It is very sturdy and perfect to use as storage if you so desire. Of course, the LELO Elise also comes with a lovely black satin storage bag that fits it perfectly so you don’t need to use the box if you don’t have the space. Also included in the box is the charger, the one year warranty, the 10 year quality guarantee, and a user manual in four languages.
You may be wondering what the difference is between the one year warranty and the 10 year quality guarantee. I did. The one year warranty is your typical warranty. The 10 year quality guarantee works like this: If anything goes wrong with your LELO Elise within the first 10 years of owning it, you can return it to them. Once they confirm the problem, LELO will offer you a 50% discount off on your next purchase from their website. Pretty nice!
The shaft of the LELO Elise is completely hard with absolutely no give at all which makes clenching down on it a pleasure. It has a slight curve that hits my g-spot when angled the right way and the shorter length allows me to thrust all I want without bruising my cervix. I appreciate the provided pulsation patterns, especially numbers 3 and 4. I do feel both motors when I am using the Elise, though neither is as strong as I would like. These vibrations are definitely on the moderate side. I rate them a 3 on a scale of 1-5. There are definitely stronger vibrators available out there but it isn’t the weakest of the bunch. While it isn’t the strongest vibe on the market, it is certainly quiet. On a scale of 1-5, the Elise comes in at a 2 for noise. When on its highest level it can be heard if you’re sitting right next to it but not from across the room.
LELO Elise Vibrator Pros:
• Dual Motors
• Travel lock
• Low charge indicator
LELO Elise Vibrator Cons:
• Splash proof, not waterproof
• Vibrations may not be strong enough for some people
As far as things go, the LELO Elise is quite the handy vibrator. It is rechargeable (yay for eco-friendly sex toys!), has dual motors and a travel lock, comes with a great storage bag, is not a lint magnet, and feels downright delicious. The two biggest downsides are that it isn’t waterproof and the vibrations could be stronger. I prefer my sex toys to be waterproof simply because it makes cleaning easier and I have come to expect it of toys with a higher price tag like the Elise. However, I like it enough to forgive it this fault. If you really must have something that is waterproof, consider the LELO Isla, also available at Holistic Wisdom. While I would prefer and sometimes need stronger vibrations, the Elise gets me there. I just have to be patient.
