SPOTLIGHT on Crave Wink

Recently I wrote a review about my new favorite vibrator, the Crave Duet. I absolutely fell in love my Duet, which was an upgraded version over the original, and was very impressed with Crave for doing such a marvelous job responding to feedback. Well, Crave has just come out with another clit stimulator called the Crave Wink.

Crave Wink

The Crave Wink is an adorable little vibrator made with a stainless steel body and a silicone tip. Like the Duet, it is meant to be used externally, but only has one motor compared to the Duet’s dual motors. Unlike the Duet, which is rechargeable, the Wink runs on one AAA battery and will supposedly provide six hours of use on each battery. It has one speed, is waterproof, and comes in soft pink, coral, and blue. I love that it looks like a classy, high-end lip gloss so it’ll seem right at home in your makeup bag, purse, or carry on. However, if you have friends who always want to try your makeup, you may run into a problem.

I know I keep comparing the Crave Wink to the Duet, but it is not meant as a replacement, simply another option. The Crave Wink seems like a good option for someone who wants a sleek and discreet vibrator. If you’ll forgive for making one last comparison, if the Wink is anything like the Duet, it is a gorgeous, well-made, high-quality sex toy.

You can find the new Crave Wink at the following stores.

Rocks-Off Butt-Boy Butt Plug Review

I have reviewed a few sex toys from Rocks-Off, such as the Rocks-Off RO-160mm, the Rocks-Off RO-150 Slimline, and the Rocks-Off Luv Massager, but I hadn’t tried any of their butt toys. There was one I’d had my eye on for some time, the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy, so I was quite pleased when Adult Sensations sent it to me for review.

Rocks-Off Butt-Boy

Beanpole Fiddler and I disagreed about whether or not the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy is a prostate massager. He insisted that it is while I said it is for all butts. Turns out we are both right, though he may be slightly more right than I am. In the Rocks-Off catalog, the Butt-Boy is listed under butt plugs but it does actually have a diagram of a man on the back of the box indicating how to use the Butt-Boy as a prostate massager. Nevertheless, I enjoy anal play even though I don’t have a prostate, so I feel I can do justice to the Butt-Boy in this review.

The Rocks-Off Butt-Boy has a slightly different shape than my other butt plugs, which is what I found so interesting about it. It has a triangular shape with a thin neck that looks like it will really lock the Butt-Boy into place. It then curves around and has three ridges meant to stimulate your perineum. This piece has an included Rocks-Off RO-80mm bullet and says Butt-Boy on it in raised letters. My Butt-Boy is made of bright red silicone, which I love, but it also comes in black. Can’t have too many red sex toys as far as I am concerned.

The silicone of the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy is very silky and does not pick up as much lint as other silicone sex toys I own. It is is super firm and has very little give to it. It does have a fair amount of drag so you MUST use lubricant with the Butt-Boy, just like with anything you stick in your butt. Always, use lube. As the Butt-Boy is made of silicone, stick with water-based lubricant. Silicone-based lubes can have a negative chemical reaction with the silicone of the butt plug causing it to become tacky. I’ve noticed there is a seam around the Butt-Boy. Though it is pronounced on the bottom of the perineum stimulator, it isn’t on the internal part of the plug so I don’t actually feel it during use.

Silicone is a particularly good choice for anal toys as it can be disinfected. I usually just wash the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy with warm water and antibacterial soap, though you can also use a sex toy cleaner. Once you remove the RO-80mm bullet you can even pop your Butt-Boy in the dishwasher on the top rack with no soap. To disinfect, simply boil the Butt-Boy for three – five minutes (after removing the bullet) or wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution. This will allow you to be certain there is nothing clinging to your butt plug, as well as allow you to share it with non-fluid bonded partners. Rest assured, silicone has such small pores that not even bacteria can be absorbed into the material, which is one of the advantages of silicone sex toys. Other advantages are that it is latex and phthalate-free, hypoallergenic, and body-safe. Some silicone anal toys can retain a slight smell after multiple uses which can usually remedied by using one of the methods of disinfection or washing your toy in the dishwasher. I have not noticed this to be an issue with the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy.

Rocks-Off Butt-Boy, RO-80mm

Rocks-Off Butt-Boy, RO-80mm, Size

The Rocks-Off Butt-Boy is actually longer than most of my butt plugs, due to the perineum stimulator. The Butt-Boy is 7″ long in total, but only 4″ of that is insertable, basically the triangular piece up to the neck. It is 1.75″ in diameter so it is not a beginner anal toy, it is something to work up to over time. Some people may also need to use smaller anal toys to work up to the Butt-Boy within a play session.
This can be a very helpful technique when participating in anal play. The .75″ neck is thin enough to serve as a good anchor and there is enough of a difference between the the diameter of the neck and the base of the butt plug to keep it from slipping out.

As I mentioned previously, the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy includes a Rocks-Off RO-80mm Bullet. This bullet lives in the perineum piece or handle of the Butt-Boy. It is made of red and metallic-plated ABS and has a soft red push button on the bottom of the bullet that turns it on and off. The RO-80mm only has one speed so it’s quite easy to use. It requires one N 1.5v battery, which is included with the Butt-Boy. The N battery comes inside the battery compartment of the bullet with a small, round piece of paper to keep the battery from touching the contacts, thus keeping the bullet from turning on unintentionally. I suggest keeping this little paper in place when you are not using the Butt-Boy if you’re going to keep store it with the battery inside. You’re probably better off removing the battery completely, but at least this way the battery won’t drain.

The RO-80mm is approximately 3.25″ long and .75″ in diameter. I suppose you can insert it vaginally on its own but I don’t. It’s just too small for me to want to use it internally. You can certainly remove it from the Butt-Boy and use it for external clit and nipple stimulation. Do NOT use the bullet anally by itself. It could easily slip inside the anal canal and be almost impossible to remove on one’s own. Speaking of removing it, the Rocks-Off RO-80mm Bullet is surprisingly easy to slide from the Butt-Boy. Usually, I find bullets incredibly hard to remove from toys like this, but all I have to do is rock it a little and slide it right out. There are ridges and grooves on the inside of the canal where the bullet lives and I think this is what allows the bullet to be removed so easily.

The Rocks-Off Butt-Boy turned out to be… interesting, with both good and bad points. The pointy end of the triangle slides in nicely, with a ton of lube, but the base feels rather abrupt when it finally slips inside. It is not the most pleasant pop I’ve ever experienced with a butt plug. The odd shape does anchor the plug in place but the neck is so short it feels as though the Butt-Boy is slipping out even when it isn’t, which is a disturbing sensation and one I don’t like at all. I like the perineum stimulator as a handle when inserting the Butt-Boy and I really like anal vibrations. The vibrations of the RO-80mm are definitely buzzy. I do not like them on my clit, but buzzy vibrations don’t bother me anally. The RO-80mm provides relatively quiet vibrations that travel well, but they are not as powerful as I would like. I certainly can feel the vibrations but I would prefer them to have more oomph. It is easy to turn on and off due to the “handle”. The ridges on the perineum stimulator don’t do a whole lot for me, but my perineum is not the most sensitive part of my body.

Like other Rocks-Off products, the packaging for the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy Butt Plug is simple. It comes in a hinged, hard black box with silver printing on the front. While the cut out window does a great job of showcasing the butt plug, it is not at all discreet so I wouldn’t leave it laying around. There is some basic info on the back of the box, including a diagram to show how men can use the Butt-Boy. The lid of the box is hinged at the bottom so it swings open from the top. Inside the box the Butt-Boy sits in a molded plastic tray that says “Rocks-Off” all over it. Underneath the tray you’ll find a pamphlet displaying all the Rocks-Off products and some information on batteries required by different products. While this box is a fair amount bigger than the butt plug, thus taking up quite a bit of room in storage, I really like it. It is extremely sturdy and when I remove the plastic tray I have room for storing a bunch of different things. I have done this with the boxes of my Rocks-Off RO-160mm and Rocks-Off RO-150mm Slimline and it works wonderfully.

Rocks-Off Butt-Boy Butt Plug Pros:
• Shape
• Easy to turn bullet on and off
• Quiet
• Silicone

Rocks-Off Butt-Boy Butt Plug Cons:
• Shape
• Short neck
• Weak vibrations
• Single speed bullet
• Hard to find battery

Though there are some things to like about the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy, in general I find it disappointing. I am glad I finally gave in to my curiosity and tested it out, but it was not the dazzling anal experience I was expecting. I like the firmness of the silicone and appreciate how quiet the RO-80mm bullet is, but single speed bullet with its weak vibrations leaves something to be desired. It is better than no vibrations at all but still disappointing in strength. The N battery is a drag because, like all atypical batteries, I don’t have extra ones sitting around the house and they are more of a challenge to find. The shape is both a positive and negative. The point slips in nicely, but the angle of the triangle is a bit extreme which feels somewhat jarring when it slides into place. The neck is also too short, so even though the Butt-Boy does not fall out it constantly feels like it’s going to. Overall, it just is not a great butt plug for me and will not be replacing any of my favorites.

SPOTLIGHT on VerSpanken Male Masturbator

Recently, I was cruising my local sex toy shop when I ran across a unique looking male masturbator that I hadn’t seen before. It piqued my curiosity so I wanted to find out more about it and share it with my readers. It’s called the VerSpanken and comes in three options, the Smooth (blue), the Bumpy (green), and the Wavy (purple). The VerSpanken Male Masturbator was released by Big Teaze Toys in December 2012, so it’s a very new product.

VerSpanken Male Masturbator

The video below introduces you to the VerSpanken and provides some instructions and techniques. I love how Joe comes out of a store labeled “XXX”. I’m not sure why they have to use a cartoon banana when they just go on to use Joe’s cartoon penis, but it’s still a cute video.

The VerSpanken is made of plastic and TPR and is both latex and phthalate-free. It has an open-ended external casing with a snap closure and comes with a pre-installed foam insert called a FoamWeiner. Each color FoamWeiners has a different textures. These FoamWeiners can be snapped out and replaced with a different texture.

VerSpanken Male Masturbator

Unlike other male masturbators, you can control the pressure, texture, and temperature of the VerSpanken. There is an adjustable feature that permits you to change the pressure during play, and WaterWeiners, (which are sold separately) are also available for the VerSpanken. These WaterWeiners are liquid-filled inserts that can be warmed up or chilled to allow for temperature play. You can even mix and match FoamWeiners and WaterWeiners. Insert the Smooth FoamWeiner on one side and the Wavy on the other for a new sensation.

Here we have Joe happening by the same XXX shop with a load of cash because he buys all three sets of WaterWeiners. This video shows you how to replace your FoamWeiners with WaterWeniers. It also shows that you can place them in the microwave and freezer.

Big Teaze Toys has come up with a number of ways in which to use the VerSpanken Male Masturbator and I was so enamored of their sketch I just had to include it for your viewing pleasure.

Lovehoney Super7 Smoothie Silicone Vibrator Review

Lately I have been focusing on rabbit vibrators and dildos and it feels like it’s been a while since I have reviewed a regular old traditional vibrator. So, this week I decided to give the Lovehoney Super7 Smoothie Silicone Vibrator from Lovehoney a whirl.

Lovehoney Super7 Smoothie Silicone Vibrator

The Lovehoney Super7 Smoothie Silicone Vibrator is a simple but attractive vibrator. It is made of light pink silicone that is slick to the touch and does not attract much lint. There are several ridges down the sides of the shaft which the website says are to offer gentle stimulation but I don’t feel them at all during use. There are also horizontal ridges around the lower third of the vibrator, but as the on/off button is in the midst of these ridges, they don’t really see much much actual penetration. They do make gripping the Super7 Smoothie easier when it is slick with lube and bodily fluids.

Surprisingly, there is a slightly unpleasant scent to the Super7 Smoothie that I have not been able to vanquish with numerous washings and airings out. Granted, the vibrator needs to be relatively close to my nose for me to detect it, but I rarely find that my silicone sex toys have a scent so this was unexpected. It makes me wonder if the Super7 Smoothie is a silicone mix rather than 100% silicone. Considering this concern, I would definitely stick with water-based lubricant over silicone-based. I would worry the silicone of the vibrator would react to the silicone in the lube and have a negative reaction. Though the Super7 Smoothie is naturally slicker and more slippery than most silicone, you still want to be sure and use a fair amount of lubricant with it, as with all insertables.

The Lovehoney Super7 Smoothie is a battery operated vibrator and Lovehoney is kind enough to include the necessary two AA batteries. Thank you, Lovehoney. The battery compartment is at the base of the vibrator. It is made of gray plastic, and for some reason has the word “VIBE” stamped into the bottom, which amuses me. It twists off smoothly and easily in one motion rather than unscrewing. When reattaching the top of the battery compartment, you must line it up properly with the shaft in order to twist it on securely, which can be a bit tricky but makes me feel as though it is very securely sealed. There is a little band of silver that says “open” and “close” with little arrows indicating direction. Below this band is a black o-ring which allows the Super7 Smoothie to be waterproof.

Being waterproof makes the Super7 Smoothie easy to clean. You can wash it under running water with antibacterial soap, use a sex toy cleaner, or a 10% bleach solution on the silicone part of the vibrator. Using this bleach solution will disinfect the silicone so you can share it between non-fluid bonded partners. I don’t recommend using the Super7 Smoothie for anal penetration as it does not have a flared base and could easily disappear up inside you.

At 7.25″, with 6″ being insertable, and 1.6″ in diameter, the Super7 Smoothie is about average in size. It might be considered slightly girthier than an average sex toy, but only slightly. Even with the motor running through the center of the shaft, there is still some give to the silicone. The top quarter of the vibrator is solid silicone so it very squashy. The tip is also slightly angled to provide g-spot stimulation.

Lovehoney Super7 Smoothie Silicone Vibrator, Battery Compartment

Lovehoney Super7 Smoothie Silicone Vibrator, Battery Compartment Cover

The control panel on the Super7 Smoothie consists of one push button on the side of the vibrator labelled “on off”. It is very basic and simple to use. You press the button once to turn the vibrator on. Keep pressing the button to cycle through all seven modes and then to turn the vibrator off. The downside of this system is that if you pass the mode you want by mistake, you have to scroll through every other mode, including turning the vibrator off and back on, to get back to it. The button is easy to press but requires sufficient pressure to change c=modes that it doesn’t happen accidentally during play. It has good feedback and makes a nice clicking sound when pressed. The seven modes of the Super7 Smoothie are as follows:
1. High steady vibration
2. Medium steady vibration
3. Low steady vibration
4. Pulse- long short long
5. Pulse- long high pulse, long low pulse
6. Pulse- long long long
7. Pulse- short low pulse, long high pulse

I would prefer to have a two button control panel so I don’t have to scroll through all of the modes to get to the one I want. I also prefer to turn a vibrator on the lowest level of intensity rather than the highest, so I think this system is not the best design. However, the vibrations are deep and rumbly and moderately powerful. I don’t think the Lovehoney Super7 Smoothie will satisfy power queens, but I do think it’ll do the job for many people. It is a little louder than I’d like. You can definitely hear it when it’s under the covers, but a closed door covers up the sound well unless you’ve got your ear to the door.

As far as using the Super7 Smoothie, it is certainly easy to hold. The ridges on the shaft make gripping and thrusting comfortable and the push button is easy to reach and press during use. The vibrations travel well through the shaft and are concentrated in the tip of the vibrator, providing good clit stimulation during external play. At first I thought the vibrations were too diffuse for me but I realized I just need the right angle on my clit and they work very well. The head is angled and firm enough to hit my g-spot and I can feel the vibrations in the tip. I like the vibrations quite a lot and am pleased that the Super7 Smoothie is not very loud, especially when I use it internally. At first I didn’t like the pattern modes because the long pulses are slightly too long, especially the low ones, but I ended up really enjoying pattern 7. It ramps me up more quickly than I expected. Overall, the Super7 Smoothie is a solid g-spot vibrator when it comes to play, but it is not outstanding.

I prefer the packaging of the Lovehoney Super7 Smoothie Silicone Vibrator to the other Lovehoney products I have reviewed thus far. While not discrete, it is more subtle and feels classier than a cardboard box with a picture of a sex toy on it. The Super7 Smoothie comes in a small black box with a frosted plastic sleeve that says “Lovehoney” on it in a silver font. There are no other markings on the package to indicate there is a sex toy inside, but as you can pretty much see the vibrator through the sleeve most people will not be left wondering what is inside. After sliding the plastic sleeve off, you’ll find the Super7 Smoothie sitting in a black plastic tray. Underneath the tray are the included batteries (go Lovehoney!) and a small folded instruction sheet. The instructions are basic and moderately clear. I am guessing they were translated into English from another language based on the amusing sentence structure and word choices. The box is small and compact without a ton of extra space surrounding the vibrator so it does not take up much more space than the Super7 Smoothie on its on, which I like. It is also sturdy enough to use for storage.

Lovehoney Super7 Smoothie Silicone Vibrator Pros:
• Rumbly vibrations
• Good power
• Comfortable to hold during play
• Waterproof
• Quiet
• Not a lint magnet

Lovehoney Super7 Smoothie Silicone Vibrator Cons:
• Unpleasant scent
• One button control panel
• Starts on highest level of intensity when turned on

As I stated above, the Lovehoney Super7 Smoothie Silicone Vibrator is a solid g-spot vibrator with moderate power and rumbly vibrations. I really like the vibrations. They are deep and strong enough to get me off rather quickly, and quiet enough to hide behind a closed door. After using it in the shower, I am happy with the Super7 Smoothie’s ability to tolerate water. Certainly there are vibrators with more modes of vibration out there, but seven is more than sufficient. Though there obviously some positives about this vibrator, there are definitely some negatives. While I do like a one button control panel in theory, it really doesn’t work for me in practice. The scrolling through all modes is annoying and distracting. I also don’t like how the Super7 Smoothie turns on at the highest level of intensity. I often prefer to begin play on the lower levels and when I get worked up and want to increase the power I have to scroll through the other modes, including turning it off and back on. Grr. I know for many people the scent would not be a big issue. Granted, it’s not overwhelming and I cannot actually smell it when I’m using the vibrator (unless I’m using it on my nipples, then I get a whiff here and there). However, I just feel like there is no reason for it to smell and I cannot remember the last time I ran into this issue.

If you are not sensitive to scents like I am and don’t mind the endless scrolling with the one button control, the Lovehoney Super7 Smoothie Silicone Vibrator is a good and affordable choice in this class of vibrators. It isn’t the most g-spotty g-spot vibrator out there but it isn’t just a traditional vibrator either. Head on over to Lovehoney to check out the Super7 Smoothie Silicone Vibrator.

SPOTLIGHT on Lovehoney Flash USB Rechargeable Mini Vibrator

Just Wednesday, I reviewed an awesome little rechargeable clit vibrator, the Crave Duet. I bring this up because today’s Spotlight is on another clit vibrator that charges via USB, the Lovehoney Flash USB Rechargeable Mini Vibrator.

Lovehoney Flash USB Rechargeable Mini Vibrator

The Lovehoney Flash USB Rechargeable Mini Vibrator is a waterproof vibrator made of silicone. It has three speeds and four patterns and looks simple enough to use. I like that it’s discreet when charging and like the Crave Duet, looks more like a thumb drive than a vibrator.

The Lovehoney Flash has a contoured and flexible tip that looks like it would be very good for stimulating the clit, nipples, and labia. It also can probably be used on the testicles and shaft of the penis, as well as the perineum. Its discreet design brings to mind the LELO Mia, which I also have yet to try. I like the idea of a discreet vibrator I can carry around with me that doesn’t look like a vibrator. In reality, I don’t usually carry a vibrator around with me but it’s always nice to have options.

Beanpole Fiddler is not a huge fan of sex toys that charge via USB, but I am. He thinks its kinda silly while I think it’s very cool. Plenty of people travel with computers nowadays so it’s a lot easier to charge something in your USB port rather than having to drag along a charger, which can be easily forgotten or misplaced. Or if you’re like me, you have a ton of chargers that you didn’t think of labeling and now you don’t know which goes to what. That could be one of the reasons I like a vibrator that plugs right into my computer, like the Lovehoney Flash.

I wonder how the Lovehoney Flash compares to other similar vibrators. I don’t have the LELO Mia but maybe I’ll have the opportunity to review the Flash… Head on over to Lovehoney to check out the Lovehoney Flash USB Rechargeable Mini Vibrator.
