Trojan is a company best known for their condoms but over the past few years Trojan has branched out into manufacturing sex toys as well. I recently had the opportunity to try out one of these sex toys, the Trojan Midnight Collection Multi-Position Vibrator from Babeland.

The Trojan Midnight Collection Multi-Position Vibrator is one of a series of new sex toys from Trojan. This vibrator reminds me a bit of the Je Joue Uma in shape. However, what makes this vibrator unique is its ability to twist to four different positions. Before receiving the Trojan Midnight Collection Multi-Position Vibrator I had high expectations of this twisting power. I was slightly disappointed to discover that this multi-positionality is much more subtle than I expected.

The Trojan Midnight Collection Multi-Position Vibrator is made of a combination of purple ABS plastic and silicone. The bottom half is made of plastic and the top half, the insertable portion, has a layer of silky silicone over the plastic making the Trojan Midnight Collection Multi-Position Vibrator extremely rigid with absolutely no give. This silicone is quite nice as it has a smooth feel to it and does not attract lint and dust like most silicone. The color is a deep plum, which I quite like. The vibrator is 10″ in length, with 5″ being insertable, and is 1.75″ in diameter, so it is on the girthier side. The insertable silicone tip has five ridges which I can not really feel during insertion. The Trojan Midnight Collection Multi-Position Vibrator requires two AA batteries which are included. To prolong the life of your batteries and your vibrator, always store it without the batteries inside.

Due to the silicone and plastic, the Trojan Midnight Collection Multi-Position Vibrator is easy to care for and clean. Both parts can be cleaned with warm water and antibacterial soap or a toy cleaner. The silicone half can also be wiped down with a 10% bleach solution to sterilize it. This would allow you to share this vibrator between non-fluid bonded partners. The Trojan Midnight Collection Multi-Position Vibrator is water-resistant, not waterproof, so take care when cleaning it and do not submerge it. The end cap to the battery compartment seems quite secure but it does not have an o-ring to keep water out. Rather than screw it on like a typical end piece, you align two little lines on either side of the end cap and twist it until it snaps in place. It does say on the box it’s safe to use in the shower so I gave it a try and it worked just fine. I was careful to let it dry thoroughly before uncapping the end to remove the batteries.

As the insertable portion is silicone, it is best to use a water-based lubricant during play. Silicone-based lubricants can react negatively with the silicone of the toy causing it to become tacky. If you want to try a silicone-based lubricant with this vibrator, you can always do a patch test before play time to test it out. This particular silicone is so silky smooth it has practically no drag and I find I need little to no lubricant aside from my own natural lubrication, but everyone is different. It also depends on how slippery and slidey you like your vibrators.

I find the Trojan Midnight Collection Multi-Position Vibrator to be slightly unwieldy in my hand, partly because the handle is so round and partly because it just a bit heavier than I expect it to be. The motor is in the base of the vibrator and while the vibrations can easily be felt in the tip of the Trojan Midnight Collection Multi-Position Vibrator, it can unfortunately also be felt quite a bit in the base so it tends to make my hand feel buzzy, especially at the higher speeds. The motor is also on the loud side which I don’t especially like. The vibrations are strong but also a bit buzzy, which is not my favorite. I prefer my vibrations deep and rumbly. That said, I can still get off with this vibrator.

My orgasms haven’t been insanely strong with this vibrator, probably due in part to the buzziness of the vibrations. The reason I was most interested in the Trojan Midnight Collection Multi-Position Vibrator was really for the multiple positions. When I first started playing with it just in my hands I was unimpressed. I did not find these positions significantly different enough to make it worth my while. It’s nothing like the Je Joue G-Ki, for example. However, after I played with it for a time and used it sexually, I began to see the advantages of the slight shifts in angle. I will say, I do like the S position, especially on my clit. It is comfortable for my hand and body combined and works quite well for me. I also like that the positions lock in place and don’t slip during rigorous play. The four different positions should allow most women to find an angle or two that work best for them.

As with most sex toys, you can use the Trojan Midnight Collection Multi-Position Vibrator by yourself or with your partner. Just don’t go sticking this vibrator up your butt as it lacks a flared base for safety. It is also only half silicone with a slight hinge in the middle that allows it shift position. I don’t notice this being a problem for cleaning but I’m not sure I’d trust being able to get it totally clean of bacteria if it goes up your butt.

This vibrator is quite easy to use. The Trojan Midnight Collection Multi-Position Vibrator has two simple buttons on the bottom of the rounded handled, a + button, and a – button. The + button turns the vibrator on and cycles through the five levels of steady vibration. Once you hit the highest level of vibration, it then cycles up through the three patterns. To cycle down through the patterns, decrease the power, or turn the vibrator off, simply use the – button. You can turn the vibrator off by pressing the – button down for one second or by pressing it until it scrolls down and shuts off. The Trojan Midnight Collection Multi-Position Vibrator always starts on the lowest level of steady vibration.

The packaging isn’t great so I have no desire to hang on to it, which is a good thing for storage because it’s quite huge. It consists of a lightweight purple cardboard box with a large window showing the vibrator. This box opens on either side rather than from the top and bottom. Inside, the vibrator is secured in a plastic clamshell along with the included Duracell batteries, instruction pamphlet, and silk storage bag. I give Trojan major props for including both the storage bag and the batteries, especially brand-name batteries. I have a tendency to complain when these items that I consider necessary are not included with their respective sex toys. It certainly does give the Trojan Midnight Collection Multi-Position Vibrator more of a luxurious feel and makes storage easy.

Something that really cracks me up about the instructions is that Trojan informs you that the Midnight Collection Multi-Positon Vibrator can be used alone or with your partner but if used during sexual intercourse, it does not offer any protection against STI’s or pregnancy. I realize they do this for the purpose of liability but I really wonder. Are there people out there who are buying this sex toy that need to be told this? I certainly hope not. Sometimes, I fear for the human race.

The Trojan Midnight Collection Multi-Position Vibrator has me a bit non-plussed. There are some serious things I don’t really like about it, most importantly the vibrations. However, I really like its ability to change positions and how well it does this. If you have issues with the angle of your g-spot toys, this one may solve your problems. Of course, that is as long as you don’t mind the buzzy vibrations, but I do know some people prefer them. It certainly has enough power to get me off. It’s not insanely loud but it isn’t quiet either so you’ll probably need to play some music to drown it out if you have thin walls.

I have to say, based on the Trojan Midnight Collection Multi-Position Vibrator, I’m not in a rush to run out and try other toys from the Trojan Midnight Collection. I’m concerned they may all have the same buzzy vibrations, but I am considering trying out another one as I do like the design of this one and I really appreciate the batteries and storage bag.

There is a category of sex toy out there that I have yet tried though I have a great interest in, sex machines. I find these things fascinating. They can be used solo or with a partner and have multiple uses.

There are different types of sex machines out there. There are handheld sex machines that usually run a few hundred dollars and there are the big ones that stand on their own that can be several thousand dollars. There are also such things as small sex balls with dildos you can bounce upon and pillows with dildo attachments. Liberator makes some of these cool pillows like the Bonbon and the Wing. However, I don’t consider these sex machines because they are not powered. You use your own body’s motion to rock yourself on this sex furniture. A machine is powered by an outside power source and does most of the work for you. Of course, that doesn’t mean you have to lay there and not participate.

Both The Stockroom and Extreme Restraints carry a surprising number of sex machines and some of the prices are astonishing. There is the Joy Ride Fucking Machine that is on sale for $2495, marked down from $3000. Yep, that’s right. It is $3000. Quite a bit of money for a sex toy, don’t you think? At least you’re getting a big bang for your buck though, rather than dropping that kind of cash on a crazy expensive vibrator. Then there is the handheld Fuck Saw, on sale for $136, marked down from $169. Add in free shipping and it seems quite reasonable, especially on sale. If you can also use it as a saw, it makes an even better deal. Ok, I wouldn’t really suggest using a saw as a sex toy and vice versa…

One thing that concerns me about these sex machines is the actual dildo attachments. Most of them do not say what materials they are made of and I’d like to know. I tend to be picky about my sex toy materials, preferring sterilizable and body-safe materials. If you’re going to drop several hundred to several thousand dollars on a sex machine, I would hope the dildos are made of silicone. For some reason I doubt this is the case though. For example, the Fuck Saw’s attachment is made of rubber and that just makes me sad. Of course, you can always use condoms with these dildo attachments, which I would do. Some of these sex machines do allow you to use any dildo that would fit so I would say that’s a factor if you are shopping for one of these things.

There are positives and negatives to both the handheld and stand-based varieties of sex machines. Obviously, price and storage are big factors. I’d love to try out some of these sex machines but I have yet to find someone who wants to hand over a $1000+ machine for review and quite frankly, I have no place to keep such a huge apparatus.

These sex machines are usually used by those who delve into the BDSM aspects of sex. They are also generally geared toward women but can be used by men as well. Some of these sex machines even have attachments for Fleshlights or come with masturbation sleeves, and of course they can be used anally.

I know I’ve written this before and I’m sure I’ll write it again, but I love Fun Factory sex toys. I have a handful in my collection and I am always open to adding more. When the opportunity arose to review one of the newish G4 Vibes from Good Vibrations, I jumped at the chance to try out the Fun Factory Big Boss.

Fun Factory is a German company that makes fun and whimsical sex toys. They are often colorful, unusual, oddly shaped, and just plain amusing. The Fun Factory Big Boss is actually one of their more “realistic” vibrators in shape, and I wouldn’t say black silicone is especially colorful. Nonetheless, the Big Boss is certainly fun. It is one of the G4 CLICK ‘N’ CHARGE vibes, which means it is rechargeable and uses the same charger as the other toys in this line. It also has the same looping handle which makes it easy to hold on to and great for thrusting.

The Fun Factory Big Boss is made of high quality matte silicone. This black silicone is very plush and squashy. (I know some of my pictures make it look blue, but it is indeed black.) It is latex and phthalate-free, hypoallergenic, body-safe. Unfortunately, it is also a huge lint magnet. I find this to often be the case with Fun Factory silicone, though the Big Boss really is the worst. It makes cleaning it a bit difficult because I cannot wipe the vibrator down with a towel as it gets all linty. Major drag. On the other hand, cleaning is rather easy because the silicone gives you several options. You can use warm water and antibacterial soap, which is what I do most of the time, a sex toy cleaner, or a 10% bleach solution. The bleach solution will sterilize the Big Boss and allow you to share it between non-fluid bonded partners.

Fun Factory recommends using a water-based lubricant with the Big Boss as silicone-based lubes can have a negative chemical reaction with the silicone of the vibrator causing it to become tacky. I often find that even with silicone toys my own lubrication is sufficient for play, but not with the Big Boss. This particular silicone is very matte and has a huge amount of drag so it really requires a fair amount of lubricant.

As I mentioned before, the Fun Factory Big Boss is a more realistic vibrator. The shape looks more like a penis than a fantasy object. It has a somewhat pronounced coronal ridge and some vein-like protrusions along the sides. It is also on the girthier side, measuring 9″ in length, with 6.75″ being insertable, and 1.75″ in diameter. To me it looks even girthier, probably due to the dark color and the very matte silicone. The Big Boss is not suitable for anal play as there is no flange to keep it from being sucked into the anus.

The Fun Factory Big Boss has a simple to use control panel on its loopy handle . It has three buttons, the + button, the – button, and the * button. These buttons light up when you run your finger over them. It’s a cute little feature. The + button turns the vibrator on and increases the power level through six levels of steady vibration. The – button decreases the power level and turns the vibrator off. Pressing the * button causes the vibrator to enter into pattern mode and cycle through the four patterns. To exit pattern mode and return to steady vibrations, you simply press the – button. These patterns are as follows:
1. Constant thrumming
2. Fast pulsing
3. Slower, longer pulsing
4. Rollercoaster pulsing

Big Boss’ motor is located at the base of the vibrator yet the vibrations travel very well through the shaft to the tip. I have some rechargeable vibrators that are not terribly strong but the Big Boss is not one of these. The vibrations are very strong and quite deep and rumbly. I like them very much and they do an excellent job of getting me off super quickly. Another thing I like about the Big Boss’ vibrations is that they are very quiet which is impressive considering they are quite powerful.

I like the look of the Big Boss with its vein-like protrusions. For me they are more decorative than anything as I don’t feel them with them vibrator inside me. I do, however, feel the pronounced coronal ridge as I thrust the Big Boss in and out. I mentioned before the Big Boss looks larger than its actual size and it does feel larger as well, especially if I don’t use enough lube. The matte silicone definitely requires more lube than my other Fun Factory toys. I’m not sure why this particular silicone is so different but it does seem to eat lube like crazy.

Though there is a slight curve to the Fun Factory Big Boss, I don’t find that it naturally hits my g-spot though I really didn’t expect it to do so. I don’t find this disappointing in any way as it is not meant to be a g-spot vibrator.

The G4 Big Boss comes in the mostly typical grey and white Fun Factory packaging. It’s a cardboard box with a window on one side and two magnetic flaps that open to a window on the other side. Inside, the Big Boss is nestled in a plastic clamshell. As I mentioned above, I have a few Fun Factory toys and usually the packaging is specific to the particular toy. However, the Big Boss packaging simply says “G4 VIBES” and has an image of another vibrator, the G4 Calla Vibrator. I don’t know why and while it’s not exactly confusing, it seems a bit silly. I guess it does make things easier for Fun Factory though. They just have one box for this line of vibrators and only have to change the internal clamshells with each vibe. Also included in the packaging are an instructions pamphlet, a fold out of Fun Factory toys, and a sample packet of Toy Fluid, Fun Factory’s water-based lubricant. The FUN Magnetic Plug needed to charge the Fun Factory Big Boss comes separately in its own box with instructions.

Charging is simple. You connect the magnetic plug to the Fun Factory logo on the back of the Big Boss’ loopy handle. It can be a bit tricky lining the magnets up just right. However, once you do the logo on the back of the charger lights up red. When the Big Boss is fully charged the red light turns off. You cannot use the Big Boss while it is charging. You want to charge your Fun Factory Big Boss for approximately six hours right out of the box. After that charging time will depend on the amount of charge left in the battery. You can charge the Big Boss at any time, you do not need to drain the battery before re-charging. The battery should give you approximately 30 minutes of use at the maximum level and the standby time on the battery is about three months.

I find the same downside charging the Big Boss as I do with other Fun Factory CLICK ‘N’ CHARGE toys. While I love the magnetic charger, it can be a bit tricky. It has a tendency to slip off off here and there so you really have to get the angle just right to ensure this does not happen and I find it necessary to check on it while it’s charging. On the positive side, as the charging mechanism is magnetic, there are no open ports thus allowing the Fun Factory Big Boss to be completely waterproof and submersible.

The other difficulty I have with this vibrator is in pressing the buttons. They are slightly recessed in the loopy handle and I find them a bit difficult to press with my nails. I’m not sure if this would be the case if you don’t have nails. They aren’t crazy difficult to use, just enough to be noticeable. It sometimes takes a few tries for me to turn on the Big Boss.

The Fun Factory Big Boss is a solid vibrator with a wealth of excellent attributes. I love that it is rechargeable and waterproof. I love even more that it is powerful and quiet. I don’t love how it eats lube and attracts lint. The buttons are a slight nuisance but not a serious detraction and I think it’s more to do with my nails than the design of the toy. Overall, I like the Big Boss and I recommend it for those who like a girthy sex toy that is easy to thrust. From a pure pleasure standpoint the Big Boss would have gotten 4 beans but due to the fact that it drinks lube like a drunk and attracts dust like crazy I had to knock off 1/2 bean.

There is a new set of sex toys out there that is quite a bit different from the typical toys on the market. It’s called the Mojowijo and while I’m not sure how I feel about it, it is definitely moving in an interesting direction.

Teledildonics (yep, that is totally a word) have been around for some time now, but the Mojowijo is unique in that it has more functionality than other teledildonic devices. The Mojowijo consists of two different devices, one female (pink) and one male (black). Each device can be used as a standalone sex toy or can be used to control your partner’s device. What’s great is that the Mojowijo can be used in whatever combination works for you. You can use them as a male/female set, male/male, or female/female.

While the Mojowijo can be used standalone, it really is meant to be used with a partner. You see, the two two devices can be linked together so that your Mojowijo actually controls your partner’s device. Mojowijo utilizes a Nintendo Wii remote, bluetooth technology, and Skype to do this. Each Mojowijo vibrator comes with a piece that allows you to connect the vibrator to your Nintendo Wii remote. This turns your Mojowijo into both a controller and a receiver. Logging into Skype allows you to connect to a partner over long distances. Of course, you can use Mojowijo in the same room but that’s a less interesting application in my opinion.

Remember the new LELO SenseMotion toys, like the LELO Lyla? There is some similarity with the way the Mojowijo works. To utilize the SenseMotion technology, you shake the LELO remote which in turn controls the Lyla. The Mojowijo is similar in that you shake your Mojowijo device (now connected to the Wii remote) in order to control your partner’s vibrator. The cool thing about this is that you can do this from anywhere, unlike the LELO toys which require you to be within close proximity. This seems like it would be a great option for those couples in long distance relationships.

The downside of the Mojowijo is that it is currently compatible with Windows 7 only, there is no compatibility with Mac OS. You also need to purchase a Bluetooth adapter which is a bit of a drag though not expensive. I wonder if you’d need the adapter if your computer is already Bluetooth capable. On the plus side, you don’t need to own the Nintendo Wii console, simply the Wii remote, which is also sold on the Mojowijo site. You can find the Mojowijo requirements here.
