If you read my reviews you know I tend to stick to water-based lubricants. They are a safer bet with silicone sex toys and so many of my toys are silicone. However, I did want to try a silicone-based lubricant so I decided to go with Pjur Original Bodyglide from FunWares.

Pjur Original Bodyglide Lubricant is a pure super concentrated silicone lubricant that contains only Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, and Dimethiconol. It is made in Germany and is oil-free, fat-free, water-free, and fragrance-free. It definitely has no scent and while I do not enjoy any lubricant in my mouth, I discern no taste either.

There are many advantages to using a silicone-based lubricant. Silicone-based lube can be used for purposes other than sexual lubrication. It can be used in place of massage oil and as a skin softener in place of lotion. Silicone-based lube is also great as a conditioner for latex so you can use it to shine up all your latex gear. While many people have allergies to some of the ingredients used in water-based lubricants, high-end silicone-based lubricants rarely cause allergic reactions. Silicone-based lubricants are water-proof so you can use them in water without fear they will easily wash away. These lubricants also have a much longer life than water-based lubricants, so a little goes a long way.

You probably know I generally recommend using water-based lubricant with silicone sex toys. This is because the silicone in both the lube and the toy can react with each other and cause the silicone of the toy to break down and become tacky. As I use water-based lube with my silicone toys, I have never had this happen but it certainly sounds unpleasant. Who wants to spend good money on a sex toy only to ruin it by using the wrong lubricant? However, I have been told that high-end silicone lubricants can be used with with high-end 100% silicone toys, such as LELO, Fun Factory, and Tantus. In fact, when I was at ANE last year I saw this demonstrated with Pjur Silicone Lubricant with no ill effects. Having said that, I still recommend you do a patch test if you are planning on using a silicone-based lubricant, even Pjur, with your favorite silicone sex toy. Of course, you can use Pjur Original Bodyglide Lubricant with other materials such as glass, metal, plastic, TPE, and TPR, to name a few, not to mention fingers and penises and other body parts.

The only other real downside for me to the Pjur Original Bodyglide Lubricant is that being silicone-based it is slightly more difficult to clean up than water-based lubes. If I have used only a small amount I can massage it into my skin and allow it to soak in, but when using a lot it requires more soap and water and some elbow grease to really get rid of it. I can’t necessarily just roll over and go to sleep after playing with Pjur Original Bodyglide Lubricant. I often need to make the effort to really clean up.

The packaging for this Pjur Original Bodyglide Lubricant is slightly special in that in comes in a drip free bottle. This allows me to squeeze out just a few drops where and when I want them. Some lube bottles are super sloppy and spill the lubricant all over the place. That’s bad enough when it’s water-based lubricant which is easy to clean up, but when it’s super slick silicone-based lube it’s a huge pain. This drip free bottle works like a charm. I just love it. I also find the bottle to be very discreet. On the front it says, “Pjur Original super concentrated BODYGLIDE”. Nothing about lubricant or sex, no naked images. I don’t think it’s obvious that Pjur is a sexual lubricant. You can certainly pass it off as a skin moisturizer or massage lotion to those who don’t know better. There is helpful information in five languages on the back of the tube in very small printing.

I really like Pjur Original Bodyglide Lubricant. As a moisturizer it soaks into my skin nicely and leaves it feeling soft and silky. As a lubricant, I only need a small amount for use during play and it really does last quite a long time. I also find that Pjur Original Bodyglide Lubricant is great for anal play and anal sex. It is softer and more slippery than water-based lube and lasts longer so there’s no need for reapplication. I just have to make sure not to use too much because there is such a thing as too slippery, especially when it comes to butt plugs.

You may remember a while back I reviewed the Vanity Vr10, one of the rabbit vibrators in the luxury line by Jopen. Well, Jopen has recently added to the Vanity line with their new Five-Point Series. Each of these Jopen Vanity Five-Point vibrators is a rabbit vibrator, meaning there is an insertable portion and a piece that stimulates the clit at the same time. These new vibrators are all silicone, waterproof, and rechargeable. They come in purple, feature dual motors, and are powered by the Power Bullet, like the Leaf Vibrators, so I expect them to be very powerful.

Often when a company updates or adds a similar product to their line, the product looks exactly the same and I’m left wondering what the upgrades really are. In the case of the Five-Point Series, each vibrator looks significantly different from its counterpart. In this way, Jopen is really extending the already large Vanity line quite a bit.

A while back, Rocks Off came out with this adorable Massager called the Luv. I do love an unusually-shaped toy, especially one that is dual-purpose, so I was thrilled at the opportunity to test drive the Luv Massager.

The Luv Massager is very cute and quite a bit smaller than I expected. It is only 6.5″ long and 2.5″ in diameter. It is made of white ABS plastic and pink silicone. These materials are very easy to care for and clean. You can use a sex toy cleaner or warm water and antibacterial soap on both ABS and silicone. You can also use a 10% bleach solution on the pink silicone head to sterilize it if you so desire. As the Luv Massager is totally waterproof, you can feel free to take it in the shower or bath for some wet massage time. The cover for the battery compartment snaps on and off rather than screwing and it has a pink silicone ring to keep the water out. The four AAA batteries sit inside a little cartridge that slides in and out of the battery compartment making it easy to store your batteries outside of the Luv Massager when it’s not in use.

The Luv Massager can be used as a body massager or as an intimate massager and can you can use it on parts of the body such as the nipples, clit, or testicles. The silicone has some drag, though not a lot. Still, you may want to use some lube when using it on your clit. Be sure to use water-based lubricant as silicone-based lubes can react negatively with the silicone of the head and cause tackiness. You also may want to use some form of water-based massage lotion when using the Luv as a body massager to keep the head from dragging all over your skin. A massage lotion will make it glide more smoothly and softly and be more comfortable as you massage yourself or your partner.

Running on four AAA batteries gives the Luv Massager’s five vibration levels quite a bit of power. It’s surprising for so small a toy. It is also on the loud side for such a little massager. I can almost hear it through the closed door to my bedroom if the apartment is silent, so if you have thin walls or roommates you might need to play some quiet music to make sure no one can hear you. Of course, as the Luv is also a body massager you may not mind anyone hearing that it’s on. I find the Luv’s vibrations to be mid-range. They are deeper and rumblier on the lower levels and get slightly higher-pitched as the strength increases. That said, they are not buzzy, and as I mentioned before, they are powerful.

The control panel of the Luv Massager is clear cut and straight-forward. It consists of two buttons, the ON/OFF button and the 5X button. The control pad lights up pink when the Luv Massager is turned on. The ON/OFF button is a dedicated button that turns the massager on and off. The 5X button scrolls through the five levels. There are three levels of steady vibration and two pattern modes. They are as follows:
1. Low steady vibration
2. Medium steady vibration
3. High steady vibration
4. Fast pulsing ramp up
5. Slow pulsing ramp up

I really like the shape of the Luv Massager. The handle is quite ergonomic and it sits comfortably in my hand during use. This makes it simple to hold onto whether I’m using it on my partner or myself. The buttons are easy to reach and press with my thumb so it is effortless to use. The only real downside of the Luv’s handle is that the vibrations can be readily felt through it, so after a while my hand starts to feel a bit buzzy. The heart-shaped head provides versatility. The point of the heart allows me precise stimulation where I want it, while the broadness of the head provides a more generous stimulation for larger surfaces. So, the heart point is great for clit and nipple stimulation, as well as really pinpointing sore muscles.

The Luv Massager does a decent job at massaging my surface muscles but it really doesn’t get deep. It feels great on my neck and the base of my skull, where I carry a lot of tension, and really helps to ease the tightness of the muscles there for me. It also works decently on my clit. This is where the pointy tip really shines for me. It allows me to get pinpoint stimulation on my clit, which I really like, and it’s not easy to find a pointy vibrator. My man is sort of iffy on it. He cannot decide if he likes the vibrations on his back though he is partial to the pointy tip digging into his sore muscles. He is not a big fan of vibrations near his penis so it fails for him there.

Though the packaging is very simple, I quite like it. The Luv Masager comes in a clear lightweight plastic sleeve which is not really good for storage. However, within the flimsy plastic sleeve the Luv sits on plastic rests inside a hard plastic box that is great for storage. The downside of this box is that it doesn’t latch at all so you need to keep it in the sleeve otherwise it will just fall open if it gets tipped over. The sleeve has some very basic information in four languages and an image of the buttons and one that shows how the batteries go in. There is no additional information included with the Luv Massager which might leave some users confused, especially if they are not experienced with massagers and sex toys. The packaging is see-through, but tasteful, and I feel like I can leave it sitting around without being worried someone will see it and think the Luv Massager is a sex toy.

I know it has already passed, but with its pink heart-shaped head and white body the Luv Massager would make a great gift for Valentine’s Day. Of course, it is sweet enough to give as a gift for other occasions as well. I’m not totally blown away by the Luv. I like it but it doesn’t blow my mind. It does have a lot going for it though. The Luv Massager would be a good first toy. It’s cute, small, and non-threatening, as well as straight-forward, powerful, and easy to use. It’s also very versatile as it can be used as a body massager or a stimulator for your nipples and clit. It can also be used on the perineum or testicles.

The small size of the Luv Massager is very convenient as it fits easily in a bedside drawer and would not take up much room in your luggage if you were to travel with it. Though the Luv definitely does not take the place of something large that runs on AC power like the Hitachi Magic Wand, the power wrapped up in this small massager makes it a good option for those without a ton of room or easy to reach wall plugs. Je Joue is company that makes some really nice products for women, like the Je Joue Uma and the Je Joue Ami. They have recently put out a new male/couple’s sex toy, a cock ring, called the Je Joue Mio.

While I recently learned by reviewing the LELO TOR II that I am not a huge fan of cock rings, I know many people are, and I am a huge fan of Je Joue. So in theory, I am curious about the Je Joue Mio. This cock ring is made of body-safe, sterilizable silicone and is both waterproof and rechargeable. It charges like the rest of the Je Joue line, with a magnetic charger that uses the control buttons as the charging contacts.

Like with the other Je Joue toys, the Mio is simple and elegant in design. Just like the Je Joue Uma, it has three buttons that control its steady vibrations and pattern modes. As the buttons are the same, I do expect the Mio to have the same challenge I found with the Uma and that third button that controls the patterns. I’m guessing you probably can’t change the patterns very easily during play but have to do it before you really get going. Not having tried it, I obviously don’t know for sure.

The great thing about cock rings is that they are very versatile. They can be used solo or with a partner and by people of any sexual persuasion. The Je Joue Mio can be used with a penis or with your favorite dildo to turn it into a rabbit vibrator. I do think that flexibility is great.

If I were more into cock rings, I would totally want to get the Je Joue Mio and compare it to my LELO TOR II. Alas, I think its beautiful craftsmanship would be lost on me.
