A few weeks ago I did a Spotlight on the new Jopen Vanity Five-Point Series. I mentioned I would be reviewing one of these new vibrators. As promised and thanks to the wonderful people at Jopen, today I am reviewing the Vanity Vr5.5 Vibrator, which can be purchased at EdenFantasys.

The Jopen Vanity Vr5.5 is one of the vibrators in the new Five-Point Series, a group of four new vibrators Jopen has recently introduced to the Jopen Vanity line. It is the signature magenta color of the Vanity line and completely covered in silicone. Back in February I reviewed the Vanity Vr10 and wasn’t totally thrilled with the rubbery feel of its silicone. However, the Vanity Vr5.5 feels very different. This magenta silicone is soft and smooth to the touch and I much prefer it. Like the Vr10, the Vanity Vr5.5 also has a slight seam all around the vibrator. However, it is much less visible and I don’t feel it as much with my fingers. I don’t feel it at all when in use. There is some text on the back of the Vanity Vr5.5 that gives information about voltage, recycling, and says “Powerbullet”. This can be clearly seen and felt but does not disturb me during play.
As always, I love silicone sex toys because they are easy to care for and clean. You can use a sex toy cleaner, a 10% bleach solution, or simply warm water and antibacterial soap, which is what I do most of the time nowadays. The Jopen Vanity Vr5.5 is totally waterproof so it makes washing with water easy breezy and allows you to take the vibrator in the bath or shower.
Silicone is latex and phthalate-free, non-porous, hypoallergenic, and body-safe, and few people have allergies to silicone. This silicone is both scent and taste-free. It is best to use a water-based lubricant with the Vanity Vr5.5 as the silicone of the vibrator can react with silicone-based lubricants and become tacky. The silicone does has some drag to it so you may want to use a bit of lube when playing.
The Vanity Vr5.5 is a rabbit style vibrator, meaning the larger shaft is insertable, while the smaller piece is an external clit stimulator. It is 7″ long, with approximately 4″ being insertable, and 1.5″ in diameter. The clit stimulator is 3″ long and 1.5″ wide. The vibrator feels sturdy in my hand but is lightweight at less than .5 pounds. The shaft of the vibrator is totally firm while the clit stimulator is very flexible and can actually be bent in half, though it will not stay in this position. This allows you to push down on the clit stimulator to create pressure against your clit if you so desire, without fear of breaking or damaging it.
The Jopen Vanity Vr5.5 is rechargeable and has a charging port on its back that closes itself off when the charging prong is removed. It takes about four hours to charge completely. The buttons have LEDs that light up when charging and will turn off when the Vanity Vr5.5 is fully charged. This vibrator has powerful independent dual motors, one in the tip of the massager and one in the clit stimulator. I find the vibrations of these motors to be fairly deep and throbby, with the the clit stimulator being slightly less so. However, it is by no means buzzy.

With its unique shape, the Jopen Vanity Vr5.5 is interesting and attractive to look at it and even more fun to use. The shape of the internal piece works really well for me. The larger tip and thinner shaft allows my body to tighten down it on very comfortably and it sits inside me just right. When I thrust, the tip rubs slightly against my g-spot, something I wasn’t expecting. The Vanity Vr5.5 hits my clit perfectly. So perfectly, in fact, that I can do some shallow thrusting with the Vr5.5 without it losing contact with my clit. It’s the ideal shape for my body. I don’t have to press down on the clit stimulator to maintain contact with my clit because the clit stimulator maintains contact on its own. While it really doesn’t provide pressure, I don’t need it in this case because it sits so perfectly on my clit. The only real downside of the Vanity Vr5.5 I find in use is that the handle feels short. I wish it were longer so it would be more comfortable with which to thrust.
Having a two button control panel makes the Jopen Vanity Vr5.5 easy to use. The top button controls the motor located in the tip of the vibrator, while the bottom button controls the motor in the clit stimulator. To turn the vibrations on and off you simply press one or both of the buttons. To increase the level of the vibrations you hold down on the button/s. Another downside is that you can’t actually decrease the level of the vibrations, you just have to turn the vibrator off and start over again if you’ve gone too high. The LED lights on the buttons flash when they are being pressed down and stay solidly lit when the Vr5.5 is on.
One really cool thing about the Jopen Vanity Vr5.5 is the travel lock. To lock, you press and hold both buttons down for four seconds. To unlock, do the same. When holding the buttons down to lock, the LEDs will light up and then go out. When unlocking, the LED on the bottom button will light up. Once unlocked, the LED on the top button will light up as well.
Jopen backs their products with a one year warranty, which you must register for, and an optional 10 year warranty. I haven’t signed up for the 10 year warranty so I can’t tell you anything about it, other than it isn’t all that easy to find information about it. Both warranties are through another warranty website where you can register online or print something out to register via mail.
The Jopen Vanity Vr5.5 comes in the same kind of packaging as the Vr10. I’m no more impressed with this packaging the second time around. I like high-end packaging, like that of LELO, and for the price point I wish Jopen would invest a bit more into their making their packaging more luxurious. Nonetheless, it is sufficient. The box holds the Vr5.5 well so it doesn’t flop around. Included in the box are a booklet with images of the entire Jopen Vanity line, a sheet that lists the vibrator’s attributes, the charger, and the storage bag.

Now, you know I love a storage bag to come with my sex toys. It just makes storage so much easier. When we’re talking about a high-priced toy, I especially want it to come with a storage bag and the Vanity Vr5.5 does. It comes with a huge storage bag. It’s so big I could use it as an overnight bag. Ok, I exaggerate, but it is very large. The storage bag is 9.5″ wide and 10″ long, much bigger than the vibrator itself. You can easily carry the charger in the bag, along with lube, condoms, and the kitchen sink if you’d like.
Vanity Vr5.5 Pros:
• Fits my body perfectly
• Silicone
• Powerful
• Dual Motors
• Rechargeable
• Travel lock
Vanity Vr5.5 Cons:
• Cannot decrease the vibration level
• Short handle
Like the Vr10, the Jopen Vanity Vr5.5 has much to offer. It it waterproof, rechargeable, and has powerful dual motors. However, the silicone of these vibrators is slightly different and I prefer the silicone of the Vr5.5. I also find it fits my body better and just gets me off better in general. I think it’s a tad pricey so I’ve knocked off half of a bean, but overall I really like this vibrator and what it has to offer. I’m sure other stores will start carrying this great vibrator soon, but right now you can find the Jopen Vanity Vr5.5 at EdenFantasys.
