Rocks-Off Butt-Boy Butt Plug Review

I have reviewed a few sex toys from Rocks-Off, such as the Rocks-Off RO-160mm, the Rocks-Off RO-150 Slimline, and the Rocks-Off Luv Massager, but I hadn’t tried any of their butt toys. There was one I’d had my eye on for some time, the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy, so I was quite pleased when Adult Sensations sent it to me for review.

Rocks-Off Butt-Boy

Beanpole Fiddler and I disagreed about whether or not the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy is a prostate massager. He insisted that it is while I said it is for all butts. Turns out we are both right, though he may be slightly more right than I am. In the Rocks-Off catalog, the Butt-Boy is listed under butt plugs but it does actually have a diagram of a man on the back of the box indicating how to use the Butt-Boy as a prostate massager. Nevertheless, I enjoy anal play even though I don’t have a prostate, so I feel I can do justice to the Butt-Boy in this review.

The Rocks-Off Butt-Boy has a slightly different shape than my other butt plugs, which is what I found so interesting about it. It has a triangular shape with a thin neck that looks like it will really lock the Butt-Boy into place. It then curves around and has three ridges meant to stimulate your perineum. This piece has an included Rocks-Off RO-80mm bullet and says Butt-Boy on it in raised letters. My Butt-Boy is made of bright red silicone, which I love, but it also comes in black. Can’t have too many red sex toys as far as I am concerned.

The silicone of the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy is very silky and does not pick up as much lint as other silicone sex toys I own. It is is super firm and has very little give to it. It does have a fair amount of drag so you MUST use lubricant with the Butt-Boy, just like with anything you stick in your butt. Always, use lube. As the Butt-Boy is made of silicone, stick with water-based lubricant. Silicone-based lubes can have a negative chemical reaction with the silicone of the butt plug causing it to become tacky. I’ve noticed there is a seam around the Butt-Boy. Though it is pronounced on the bottom of the perineum stimulator, it isn’t on the internal part of the plug so I don’t actually feel it during use.

Silicone is a particularly good choice for anal toys as it can be disinfected. I usually just wash the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy with warm water and antibacterial soap, though you can also use a sex toy cleaner. Once you remove the RO-80mm bullet you can even pop your Butt-Boy in the dishwasher on the top rack with no soap. To disinfect, simply boil the Butt-Boy for three – five minutes (after removing the bullet) or wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution. This will allow you to be certain there is nothing clinging to your butt plug, as well as allow you to share it with non-fluid bonded partners. Rest assured, silicone has such small pores that not even bacteria can be absorbed into the material, which is one of the advantages of silicone sex toys. Other advantages are that it is latex and phthalate-free, hypoallergenic, and body-safe. Some silicone anal toys can retain a slight smell after multiple uses which can usually remedied by using one of the methods of disinfection or washing your toy in the dishwasher. I have not noticed this to be an issue with the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy.

Rocks-Off Butt-Boy, RO-80mm, Size

The Rocks-Off Butt-Boy is actually longer than most of my butt plugs, due to the perineum stimulator. The Butt-Boy is 7″ long in total, but only 4″ of that is insertable, basically the triangular piece up to the neck. It is 1.75″ in diameter so it is not a beginner anal toy, it is something to work up to over time. Some people may also need to use smaller anal toys to work up to the Butt-Boy within a play session.
This can be a very helpful technique when participating in anal play. The .75″ neck is thin enough to serve as a good anchor and there is enough of a difference between the the diameter of the neck and the base of the butt plug to keep it from slipping out.

As I mentioned previously, the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy includes a Rocks-Off RO-80mm Bullet. This bullet lives in the perineum piece or handle of the Butt-Boy. It is made of red and metallic-plated ABS and has a soft red push button on the bottom of the bullet that turns it on and off. The RO-80mm only has one speed so it’s quite easy to use. It requires one N 1.5v battery, which is included with the Butt-Boy. The N battery comes inside the battery compartment of the bullet with a small, round piece of paper to keep the battery from touching the contacts, thus keeping the bullet from turning on unintentionally. I suggest keeping this little paper in place when you are not using the Butt-Boy if you’re going to keep store it with the battery inside. You’re probably better off removing the battery completely, but at least this way the battery won’t drain.

The RO-80mm is approximately 3.25″ long and .75″ in diameter. I suppose you can insert it vaginally on its own but I don’t. It’s just too small for me to want to use it internally. You can certainly remove it from the Butt-Boy and use it for external clit and nipple stimulation. Do NOT use the bullet anally by itself. It could easily slip inside the anal canal and be almost impossible to remove on one’s own. Speaking of removing it, the Rocks-Off RO-80mm Bullet is surprisingly easy to slide from the Butt-Boy. Usually, I find bullets incredibly hard to remove from toys like this, but all I have to do is rock it a little and slide it right out. There are ridges and grooves on the inside of the canal where the bullet lives and I think this is what allows the bullet to be removed so easily.

The Rocks-Off Butt-Boy turned out to be… interesting, with both good and bad points. The pointy end of the triangle slides in nicely, with a ton of lube, but the base feels rather abrupt when it finally slips inside. It is not the most pleasant pop I’ve ever experienced with a butt plug. The odd shape does anchor the plug in place but the neck is so short it feels as though the Butt-Boy is slipping out even when it isn’t, which is a disturbing sensation and one I don’t like at all. I like the perineum stimulator as a handle when inserting the Butt-Boy and I really like anal vibrations. The vibrations of the RO-80mm are definitely buzzy. I do not like them on my clit, but buzzy vibrations don’t bother me anally. The RO-80mm provides relatively quiet vibrations that travel well, but they are not as powerful as I would like. I certainly can feel the vibrations but I would prefer them to have more oomph. It is easy to turn on and off due to the “handle”. The ridges on the perineum stimulator don’t do a whole lot for me, but my perineum is not the most sensitive part of my body.

Like other Rocks-Off products, the packaging for the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy Butt Plug is simple. It comes in a hinged, hard black box with silver printing on the front. While the cut out window does a great job of showcasing the butt plug, it is not at all discreet so I wouldn’t leave it laying around. There is some basic info on the back of the box, including a diagram to show how men can use the Butt-Boy. The lid of the box is hinged at the bottom so it swings open from the top. Inside the box the Butt-Boy sits in a molded plastic tray that says “Rocks-Off” all over it. Underneath the tray you’ll find a pamphlet displaying all the Rocks-Off products and some information on batteries required by different products. While this box is a fair amount bigger than the butt plug, thus taking up quite a bit of room in storage, I really like it. It is extremely sturdy and when I remove the plastic tray I have room for storing a bunch of different things. I have done this with the boxes of my Rocks-Off RO-160mm and Rocks-Off RO-150mm Slimline and it works wonderfully.

Rocks-Off Butt-Boy Butt Plug Pros:
• Shape
• Easy to turn bullet on and off
• Quiet
• Silicone

Rocks-Off Butt-Boy Butt Plug Cons:
• Shape
• Short neck
• Weak vibrations
• Single speed bullet
• Hard to find battery

Though there are some things to like about the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy, in general I find it disappointing. I am glad I finally gave in to my curiosity and tested it out, but it was not the dazzling anal experience I was expecting. I like the firmness of the silicone and appreciate how quiet the RO-80mm bullet is, but single speed bullet with its weak vibrations leaves something to be desired. It is better than no vibrations at all but still disappointing in strength. The N battery is a drag because, like all atypical batteries, I don’t have extra ones sitting around the house and they are more of a challenge to find. The shape is both a positive and negative. The point slips in nicely, but the angle of the triangle is a bit extreme which feels somewhat jarring when it slides into place. The neck is also too short, so even though the Butt-Boy does not fall out it constantly feels like it’s going to. Overall, it just is not a great butt plug for me and will not be replacing any of my favorites.

SPOTLIGHT on Tantus Space Toys

Tantus is one my favorite makers of Silicone Sex Toys, though I don’t have nearly as many as I’d like. I have written about them on a number of occasions and I have done a handful of Tantus reviews and Spotlights because I think they have great toys. Now I also love funky colored and unusual looking toys so when I saw the new Tantus Space Toys I was pretty excited. Have you seen this gorgeous collection?

As you can see, the new Tantus Space Toys come in an amazing color combination of pink, orange, and green and are just delicious looking. Do they remind anyone else of rainbow sherbert? Rainbow sherbert, yum! Loved it as a kid. How can you not love sex toys that look like ice cream?

The four different products in the Tantus Space Toys line offer a choice between butt plugs and dildos. The Asteroid and Meteorite are butt plugs, while the Rocket and Comet are dildos. I love the names of these sex toys almost as much as I love their colors.

All four Space Toys are made of the typical Tantus 100% Ultra-Premium Platinum Silicone, a very high quality medical-grade silicone. It is latex and phthalate-free, hypoallergenic, and body-safe. This makes the Tantus Space Toys quite safe for almost anybody to use. Each of the products in this line are handmade in the United States, which I always think is a bonus. The handmade nature of these toys means not all of them will be identical so each one is an original.

Head over to Tantus and check out the Asteroid, Meteorite, Rocket, and Comet (reindeer anyone?).

By the way, if you haven’t checked out the Tantus website recently, you really ought to do so. They have totally revamped it and it looks great!

SPOTLIGHT on Fun Factory Boosty Butt Plug

It’s been a while since I’ve discussed butt toys and I saw one that looks rather interesting. It’s called the Boosty Butt Plug and it’s made by Fun Factory, one of my favorite sex toy manufacturers.

Fun Factory Boosty Butt Plug

Boosty

I think the Fun Factory Boosty Butt Plug has a very cool shape. The base looks like it will keep the plug in place without getting sucked up into the butt. It also looks comfortable to sit on. The shape looks like the plug will stay put quite well. I’ve never tried a butt plug in this shape before and it does look as though it would be better for advanced users rather than beginners. The shape of the Boosty Butt Plug also allows for both prostate and g-spot play, making it a unisex and versatile butt plug. I do realize that most butt plugs are unisex, but they’re not all this versatile.

Made of 100% silicone that I’m sure is lush and lovely, if I know Fun Factory, the Fun Factory Boosty Butt Plug is latex and phthalate-free, hypoallergenic, and body-safe. It can be easily be cleaned and even boiled for sterilization. That’s what great about no moving parts. The Fun Factory Boosty is 1.5″ thick at it’s widest point and .5″ at the base. This seems like a good ratio to keep everything where it should be. 3.5″ of the Fun Factory Boosty is insertable.

The Fun Factory Boosty Butt Plug reminds me of the Fun Factory Bootie, another butt plug I have yet to try. In fact, it looks almost as if the Boosty is Bootie’s bigger and badder brother.

Bean Fiddler’s Best of 2011

So I’ve been thinking it would be a good idea to look back over the last year and see what my favorite sex toys and sensual products were from 2011. Quite frankly, I am not always great at narrowing down lists of favorites because I tend to waffle back and forth so this has proven to be a challenge for me. I decided to go back and look at all the products that received a 5 Bean Rating from me and share my list with you. However, it turns out I reviewed a number of highly rated items in 2011 so I did have to narrow down the list somewhat to highlight my true favorites.

I have split the list between my top sex toys and my top sensual products to be more specific.

Top Five Sensual Products of 2011

Number five is Sweet Beauty’s Chocolate Body Cream from Babeland. This body cream is thick and creamy and has the most delicious chocolatey scent. It makes my skin feel soft and silky and smell heavenly. In fact, the danger of the Chocolate Body Cream is that it makes me crave chocolate. While body cream may not be the first thing you think of when discussing sensual products, I think anything that tantalizes multiple senses is a sensual treat.

In the number four spot is TRUST Natural Oil. TRUST is the most amazing massage oil I have run across in a long time. It is an organic, vegan, cruelty-free, food-grade oil that happens to be kosher as well. TRUST is made with Grape Seed, Avocado, and Apricot Kernel Oils and is light and silky on my skin. It is very moisturizing and adds both a high class feel and increased intimacy to any massage.

Number three is Intimate Organics Intense Clit Stimulating Gel. This Clit Gel makes my clit all cool and tingly in the most wonderful way. Another vegan, cruelty-free product, Intense Clit Stimulating Gel is glycerine and paraben-free and does not contain DEA or menthol. However, it does contain organic extracts which I think is a nice bonus. Most importantly, I love how it makes my clit feel and how it speeds up my orgasms.

The number two slot goes to the Beginner Bondage Kit from MyPleasure. The Beginner Bondage Kit comes with wrist and ankle cuffs, tethers, a blindfold, and a small flogger. Though I do not consider myself a beginner when it comes to bondage, I love the cuffs in this kit. They are not only an awesome color with a cute heart detail, they are strong, secure, and comfortable. The kit is totally worth it just for the cuffs and storage bag.

My number one sensual product of 2011 is the Liberator Wedge. The Liberator Wedge is an amazing piece of sex furniture that belongs in everyone’s collection. It brings comfort, communication, and creativity to the bedroom in a fun way. It provides a variety of positions and allows for better access for both partners. I still leave mine out on the bed and use it as a backrest as well. My Liberator Wedge is good for all sorts of things!

Top Five Sex Toys of 2011

In the number five spot is the Hitachi Magic Wand. I recently reviewed the Hitachi and fell in love with its deep vibrations and ability to multitask as a muscle massager, which is really its intended use. It doesn’t look like a sex toy which is a bonus if I want to leave it laying around.

Number four on my list of sex toys is the Octopussy also from Babeland. This dildo is shaped like tentacle and has the most amazing texture I have ever run across. It is a lovely light pink color and is made of glass. The Octopussy can be used vaginally or anally and the curved handle makes it very easy to use. The glass is great for sensation play but what truly stands out is the texture. I don’t have anything else quite like it and it’s just great.

My number three toy of 2011 is the G-Spot Lollipop J Pop. I discovered this little beauty when I attended ANE in July. Its rather unusual shape allows for great g-spot stimulation and it comes in all sorts of fun colors. The G-Spot Lollipop also comes in multiple styles and sizes, and though I haven’t tried any other style, I do love my G-Spot Lollipop J Pop.

Tied for the number two slot are two phenomenal butt plugs, the Crystal Delights Crystal Kiss and the nJoy Pure Plug. They are both so awesome, I can’t choose which one I like more. The Crystal Kiss is the most beautiful toy I own. It is just exquisite with its swirl of red and gorgeous swarovski crystal. The njoy Pure Plug is delightful in its heavy steel and can be worn for significant periods of time comfortably.

My number one top sex toy of 2011 is the famous Eroscillator. The Eroscillator is so unlike any of my other sex toys because it oscillates rather vibrates. It really is a must have for every sex toy aficionado. It is also an excellent choice for women who have only one clitoral vibrator and those who may have trouble reaching orgasm. It has multiple attachments which makes it very versatile and can be used solo or with a partner. I just adore the way it feels on my nipples and clit.

As I said, this has been quite a challenge for me. 2011 was a good year for sex toys and sensual products and I am lucky to have reviewed so many great things last year. I am sure I have left out some really nifty products but I had to narrow it down somehow. I am already looking forward to the awesome products I will review in 2012. A big thank you to everyone who has made it possible for me to review all these wonderful products. Hey, being a sex toy reviewer is a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it.

Pop Plug Review

It has been a while since I have reviewed an anal toy so I decided that today I would talk about the Pop Plug from Vibrator.com.

Pop-Plug

The Pop Plug Butt Plug is made by Doc Johnson. Though Doc Johnson is a local California-based company (yay!), their products and packaging are made in China. The Pop Plug comes packaged in a flexible plastic box with colorful pink swirls on it. Inside the box, the Pop Plug sits in a plastic tray. The packaging is really not discreet as you can see the Butt Plug through the front of the box. You can certainly use this box for storage but it does take up quite a bit more room than the Pop Plug Butt Plug itself, so if space is an issue for you as it certainly is for me, you may want to pop your Pop Plug in a nice little storage bag.

This Butt Plug is made of premium silicone, which is latex and phthalate-free, as well as being hypoallergenic and body-safe. As silicone is non-porous, it is a great choice for sex toys, especially things that go up your butt. It will not collect bacteria and such and is very easy to clean and disinfect. You can go the easy route and simply use water and anti-bacterial soap, or a sex toy spray or wipe. However, if you are sharing your Pop Plug between partners or going from anal to vaginal play with it, you definitely want to sterilize it. Fortunately, that is a cinch to do. The Pop Plug is solid silicone so you can use a 10% bleach solution, wash it in the top rack of your dishwasher with no soap, or boil it in water for 3-5 minutes.

The use of lubricant is always important with anal toys and the Pop Plug is no different. However, as it is 100% silicone, you want to be sure to use a water-based lubricant with it. Though some high quality silicone sex toys can be used with some high quality silicone lubes, this is not always or even often the case. Silicone will bond with itself so if you use a silicone lube with your silicone Pop Plug, you may end up melting your Butt Plug. Therefore, to be safe I prefer to stick with a water-based lubricant when playing with my silicone sex toys.

The Pop Plug Butt Plug comes in three sizes, small, medium, and large. I ordered the large, figuring that would suit me best and it was a good choice. I find even the large to be on the small side when it comes to butt plugs, though I certainly do not need all of my plugs to be huge by any stretch (pun intended). The Large Pop Plug is approximately 4 3/4″ long, with 2 1/2″ being insertable, and 1 1/2″ in diameter. The silicone is light pink and very soft. It also does not attract lint or hair which is always a blessing when it comes to silicone. There is a seam along two sides of the Pop Plug that I feel with my fingers but I do not feel the seem when the plug is inside me.

Pop Plug

While pink is not my favorite color for sex toys, it certainly is fitting for Pink October. We all know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and pink is the color of breast cancer, right? Of course, pink is also used by other causes but this month pink is all about Breast Cancer. It is a perfect time to to buy yourself or someone a pink butt plug! I also certainly prefer pink to black or something that is close to my skin color. I like my sex toys more whimsical and colorful.

The shape of the Pop Plug allows it to slide inside my butt smoothly and easily and stay put. It fits snugly and does not slip out even with vigorous activity. This is a huge thing for me as I do tend to have issues with many of my plugs slipping out. Thanks to the little handle, it is easy to remove. I simply slip my finger through the circle, tug gently, and out slides the Pop Plug. The size is great for me, though it does feel much smaller than its 1 1/2″. This is most likely because the Pop Plug is silicone so it compresses, whereas I usually wear glass or stainless steel butt plugs which do not.

The base of the Pop Plug is so ergonomic. Yes, yes, I know most people do not necessarily think of butt plugs as ergonomic but it sits perfectly between my ass checks. It keeps the entire plug from disappearing up inside me while also keeping it from sliding out. It allows me to walk and sit comfortably, no mean feat while wearing a butt plug.

Pop Plug Pros:
• Silicone
• Not a lint magnet
• Three sizes
• Great design

Pop Plug Cons:
• No storage bag

I was actually quite surprised by how comfortable the Pop Plug is, especially to just sit around in. I’m wearing it as I write this review, and unlike some of my other plugs, sitting on top of it is no problem. The silicone is just so smooth and forgiving. I am delighted that it comes in three sizes as it should fit the bill for most anyone except size queens. I would love to see it in an extra large size, actually, but I can be a bit of a size queen when it comes to my sex toys. Never mind me though, the shape is so great and the plug so comfortable, I think the small size would be excellent for beginners. It really is a very friendly butt plug.

So head on over to Vibrator.com and pick up the appropriate size Pop Plug for yourself, and be sure to follow Vibrator.com on Twitter to stay on top of what’s going with them!
