Vibratex Budding Bliss Rabbit Vibrator Review

My first review here on Bean Fiddler was the Vibratex Classic Rabbit Pearl. It wasn’t a great review, but it was a vibrator I liked very much at the time. It is not something I use any longer. I actually broke it and I have so many other rabbit vibrators I prefer. Since that time, I have had the opportunity to review both the Vibratex Mystic Mini and the Vibratex Mystic Wand, both of which I also enjoyed. So when I ran across the enticing looking Vibratex Budding Bliss Rabbit Vibrator on the FunWares website, I figured it was worth taking for a spin.

Vibratex Budding Bliss Rabbit Vibrator

The Vibratex Budding Bliss Rabbit Vibrator has a design that is somewhat different from many rabbits. Rather than having some sort of animal as the clit stimulator, it has a rosebud that is just beginning to bloom, hence the name. It also has some curious looking winglike protrusions on the shaft. It comes in two color combinations, pink on pink and pink on white. I love the pink on white combo because it looks so sleek and stylish (Can a vibrator look stylish?) and I don’t actually have many white vibrators. It’s actually more of a deep rose color and closer to red than a true pink, which I also appreciate.

Made of ABS and silicone, the Budding Bliss is a very safe vibrator. It contains no latex or phthalates and is hypoallergenic and body-safe. The base of the vibrator, which contains the battery compartment and control panel, is white ABS while the body is silicone. This silicone is unusually soft and silky. Even better, it does not attract lint and dust so it is very easy to keep clean. You can use warm water and antibacterial soap or your favorite sex toy cleaner. You can also use a 10% bleach solution on the silicone portion of the Budding Bliss to sterilize it. As this vibrator is only splash proof and not waterproof, do be cautious around liquids. The battery compartment does have an o-ring and seems to seal tightly. I have not had any issues thus far but I am careful when washing and don’t take this vibrator into the bath or shower.

The super soft silicone of the Budding Bliss Vibrator has less drag than many of my other silicone sex toys. That said, I still recommend using a decent amount of water-based lubricant to make sure everything is slippy and slidey and comfortable during play. Stay away from silicone-based lubes with this vibrator, as the silicone in the lube may react with the silicone of the Budding Bliss causing the the vibrator to become tacky.

As I mentioned, the control panel is on the base of the Budding Bliss, right above the access to the battery compartment. This control panel is comfortable and easy to use during play. There are two round dials. The dial top controls the rotations of the shaft and the dial on the bottom controls the vibrations of the rosebud. These dials rotate to the right to turn on and allow you to control the exact level of intensity you want. Most vibrators like this have a predetermined number of levels. With the Budding Bliss, you can fine tune the intensity of vibration from the lowest setting to the highest with pinpoint accuracy. Think of the dial like a volume control knob on your stereo or on a light dimmer. These dials turn smoothly and provide good feedback. There is a loud click that you hear and feel when you’ve turned the vibrator off.

Vibratex Budding Bliss Rabbit Vibrator, Battery Cartridge

At the base of the control panel is the access to the battery compartment. The base of the Budding Bliss twists off and inside the compartment is a battery cartridge. Simply pop the four (count ‘em, four) AAA batteries into the cartridge and slide it right into the compartment. Unlike the PAPAYA Toys Tattoo and the PAPAYA Toys Candy Stick with their award winning battery packs, there is a right and a wrong way to put in the cartridge. If you do it wrong it won’t fit, so it’s pretty easy to figure out which is the right way. While scraping up four AAA batteries is a pain, considering they are not included with the Budding Bliss, they provide a good amount of power to the vibrator.

The Vibratex Budding Bliss Rabbit Vibrator is 8.5″ in length, with 4.5″ being insertable, and 1.5″ in diameter. This size is pretty average as far as vibrators go. What is not average is the way the vibrations travel from the clit stimulating rosebud through the shaft. As I crank up the intensity level on the vibrations, I can actually feel them in the tip of the shaft. They are so powerful, in fact, I can get off with just the tip of the Budding Bliss on my clit. I cannot recall another rabbit vibrator that has been able to this. The Budding Bliss’ rotations are quite powerful, allowing me to clench down on the shaft without stopping them. I also have to say, turning on the rotations with the tip of the vibrator on my clit feels unexpectedly good.

In general, the Budding Bliss does what a rotating rabbit vibrator should do. The shaft rotates smoothly and the vibrations are powerful. It works well to stimulate both internally and externally at the same time. The control panel is very easy to reach and use during play, and the silicone feels great against my skin. I also really like the texture of the rosebud against my clit. Where the Budding Bliss falls down is in the quality and volume of its vibrations. The vibrations are definitely buzzy, which makes me want to punch someone. I know some people like buzzy vibrations, but I am not one of them. I find them tolerable to annoying to downright painful. At least the ABS base blocks them so my hand doesn’t get buzzed during use, but they are not happy vibrations as far as I am concerned. That said, they do get me off, both when I use the tip or the rosebud against my clit. Still, I don’t like them. The shaft rotations and the vibrations are very loud, so this vibrator is certainly not a good choice for someone who does not have plenty of privacy.

The packaging of the Vibratex Budding Bliss Rabbit Vibrator is the same packaging I’ve seen before from Vibratex. The vibrator comes in a clear, kinda flimsy, plastic box. It doesn’t actually say “vibrator” on it but you’d have to be Amish not to know what is inside, which makes this packaging totally indiscreet. Inside, there is a small paper sleeve with some very basic information and that’s it. I’m not going to complain about there not being a users manual with this particular sex toy because I think even the newbiest newbie can figure it out on her own. I don’t recommend using the box for storage because it won’t stand up over time. Mine is already breaking and it’s not like I’ve abused it or anything. Since it does not come with a storage bag (boo), pop it into a ziploc or some other type of bag to keep it from squashing up against other silicone sex toys. Remember what I said about using silicone-based lubricant with the Budding Bliss? The same applies when storing silicone toys together. If two silicone toys are left touching too long, a chemical reaction can occur which could result in destroying both toys.

Vibratex Budding Bliss Rabbit Vibrator Pros:
• Strong vibrations that reach tip of shaft
• Strong rotations
• Silky soft silicone
• Easy to use control panel
• Can increase/decrease intensity in increments
• Splash proof

Vibratex Budding Bliss Rabbit Vibrator Cons:
• Buzzy vibrations
• Loud

There is a lot to like about the Vibratex Budding Bliss Rabbit Vibrator. It’s cute, the silicone is awesome, and the rotations and vibrations are powerful. It’s different from your average rabbit vibrator, which I like. The fact that the vibrations travel all the way to the tip, making this even more of a multifunction toy, is also a benefit. However, the buzzy vibrations are a big let down for me and I think the volume of the vibrator, though not a deal breaker for me, will be an issue for many. To be fair to the Budding Bliss, rotating rabbits do tend to be loud so I don’t think this is very unusual. Still, a lot of people just need a quieter vibrator for a variety of reasons. If you are a fan of buzzy vibrations then this may be a new favorite vibrator for you. As far as I am concerned his vibrator is definitely above average in many aspects, but it loses points for its buzzy vibrations.

You can find the Budding Bliss Vibrator at FunWares. If you’re disturbed by the idea of buzzy and loud vibrations, check out their other rabbit vibrators. They have a ton, so it’s likely you’ll find something that will work for you. Also, keep in mind you’ll receive a 10% discount on your order with code: FIDDLER at discount.

LELO Insignia Isla Review

If you follow Bean Fiddler or have checked out My Toy Box, you’ll see that I have a reviewed a fair amount of LELO Pleasure Objects and I generally enjoy them. When EdenFantasys asked if I would be interested in trying out the LELO Insignia Isla I jumped at the chance. I know it’s not one of their newest vibrators, but I love my waterproof sex toys, so when I had the the opportunity to review such a high quality vibrator, I was excited.

LELO Insignia Isla G-Spot Vibrator

LELO is a Swedish company that produces high-end luxury sex toys, or as they call them, Pleasure Objects. The LELO Insignia line is their relatively new line of waterproof vibrators. They are differentiated from the other LELO sex toys by their gold plastic accents, and of course by being waterproof. This allows you to take the Isla into the bath or shower and makes cleaning the vibrator mostly a breeze. As the LELO Insignia Isla is made of silicone and plastic, you have several options for cleaning. LELO recommends warm water and antibacterial soap, which is generally what I use to clean my Isla. You can also use a sex toy cleaner. A 10% bleach solution can be used to sterilize the silicone but I am uncertain as to how it would effect the gold plastic. I am concerned it might damage the finish and therefore haven’t used bleach with mine. I do not share my toys with other people, so I have no real need to sterilize the Isla. Though you can use alcohol on many plastic toys, LELO warns against using it with this vibrator. I do have a major issue with cleaning my LELO Insignia Isla, but I’ll address that in a bit.

The silicone of the Isla is the typical soft and smooth high-quality silicone that I have always found with LELO toys. I love this silicone. It feels so silky against my skin and it does not attract lint and dust, which is impressive for a silicone vibrator. Due to the silicone, it is best to use a water-based lubricant. A silicone-based lube can cause a chemical reaction with the silicone of the Isla and leave it tacky. If you do plan on using a silicone-based lubricant, use a high quality one and do a patch test first.

The LELO Insignia Isla is not an overly large vibrator. It measures 8.5″ in length, with 5.5″ being insertable. It is almost 1.5″ in diameter, which is about average. The shape is slightly different than many of my other vibrators. Rather than being round it is somewhat oblong. I notice the difference when I hold it in my hand but it does not feel any different inside me. There is a slight curve to the shaft of the Isla, making it the g-spot vibrator of the Insignia line. The sleek silicone lays over what I assume is a hard plastic. There is absolutely no give to the LELO Isla, so you will definitely feel that girth inside of you. The Isla has a handle at its base that can be used to manipulate its movements.

While I do like the shape and overall looks of this vibrator, I have an issue with the design. As I have mentioned, the LELO Insignia Isla is made of silicone and plastic. As you can see in the images, the exterior of the vibrator is silicone, with the interior being the gold plastic. There is a tiny seam all along the outside of the gold plastic where it meets the silicone. Now this seam is no big deal when the vibrator is inside me. I don’t feel it at all. However, it makes the Isla a big pain to clean. Lube and bodily fluids love to crawl up inside this seam everywhere they possibly can and I feel like I need a special tool just to clean them out. A good wash in the sink is simply not enough, there is always some residue left in the seam when I am done. I really need a toothpick, fingernail, old toothbrush, something to get into that seam. I would be hesitant to share this vibrator with a partner unless we were fluid-bonded because I do not have confidence the Isla can be sterilized due to this annoying seam.

As with all of LELO’s vibrators and cock rings, the LELO Insignia Isla is rechargeable, which I love. Though it can be nice to have a few vibes around that are ready in a pinch, I would much prefer to charge my vibrators than spend the money and waste resources on going through a ton of batteries. To charge the Isla, you simply plug the AC charger into the port on the back of the vibrator. The LED on the control panel pulses white during charging and glows steadily when the charge is complete. A full charge takes approximately two hours and gives you up to four hours of play time. If the charge is running low, the control panel of the Isla will blink rapidly when you turn the vibrator on. A full charge should give you about 90 days of standby time, though LELO recommends you charge your Isla once per month.

LELO Insignia Isla

LELO Insignia Isla

LELO Insignia Isla

The control panel on the LELO Insignia Isla is much like the control panels on the remotes of the Insignia Lyla, the Insignia Tiani and the Tiani 2. There are three buttons lined up vertically on the handle, the + button, the () button, and the – button. These buttons have the same function on the Isla as on the rest of LELO’s Insignia line. The + buttons turns the vibrator on and increases the intensity of the vibrations. The – button decreases the vibration intensity and turns the Isla off. The () button cycles through the vibration modes. One great thing about the LELO Isla is that you can increase and decrease the intensity of the vibrations in each mode by using the + and – buttons. It does not have a memory chip so every time you turn it on the Isla starts at the lowest level of steady vibration. As with other LELO vibrators, the Isla has a travel lock. Hold down on the + and – buttons for five seconds to lock and unlock. The LED will flash once to let you know you have been successful.

The LELO Insignia Isla has six different modes of vibration and within these modes, there are variable intensities. They are as follows:
1. Steady vibration
2. Slow pulse
3. Faster pulse
4. Medium, longer pulse
5. Revving up
6. Dance Mix

In use, I think this vibrator does a good job. I find the vibrations to be deep and rumbly, like many of my other LELO vibrators. They are quiet and can certainly be used with someone in the next room, as long as you have a closed door between you. No need for music or TV to muffle the sound. I really enjoy the different vibration modes and tend to use Dance Mix the most. I like the hardness of the shaft which allows me to feel the full girth of the vibrator inside of me. I do like my sex toys with some girth to them so 1.5″ is not large for me. I love the handle as it makes thrusting supper easy and keeps my hand from getting all slippery from lube and other fluids. It is comfortable to hold onto and makes the control panel easily accessible. The vibrations are strong and more than sufficient to get me off. I think many women will feel the same way. At the right angle, the tip of the Isla does hit my g-spot but it really doesn’t shine as a g-spot toy for me. It feels more like a traditional vibrator. I do enjoy thrusting with it and it works great on my clit. I can get off in very little time with the LELO Insignia Isla, which to me is the sign of a good vibrator.

The packaging of the LELO Insignia Isla is the same high quality packaging of other LELO vibrators. The external box is black with an image of the Isla on the front and back. Inside is the traditional black hard storage box with LELO printed on the lid. This box is totally discreet and can be left laying about unless you have little kids or nosy friends who open your stuff without permission. Inside the box, the Isla lays in a bed of black velvet foam, with the signature gold Insignia pin beside it. This pin is included with all the Insignia vibrators and I have yet to figure out what to do with them. I suppose I could wear one around exchanging winks with anyone else silly enough to do the same. Also included in the box is the charger, a black satin storage bag, a sample of LELO’s personal moisturizer (lubricant), a user manual, and the typical LELO one year warranty/10 year quality guarantee. This 10 year quality guarantee is something I have only seen from LELO. If your LELO vibrator dies after the one year warranty is up, LELO will allow you to purchase another toy from their website for 50% off. Pretty cool.

LELO Insignia Isla Packaging

LELO Insignia Isla Pros:
• Strong vibrations
• Quiet
• Waterproof
• Great handle
• Well-placed controls
• Can control the level of intensity in each mode
• High quality silicone

LELO Insignia Isla Cons:
• Seam between plastic and silicone

There are many qualities I love about the LELO Insignia Isla. It is waterproof and rechargeable. The silicone is silky smooth and does not attract lint. The vibrations are powerful and quiet and I like the patterns. The handle makes thrusting and hitting buttons a pleasure. The Isla lives up to the high standards of many of LELO’s vibrators, and more importantly, to my high expectations. It really isn’t a true g-spot vibe for me, but I’m much more clit oriented so I don’t see that as a drawback. The one thing that really bugs me is that seam. It pisses me off every time I wash the Isla. If it wasn’t for that annoying seam I would give the LELO Insignia Isla a rating of 4.5 beans, but I’m knocking off one bean because cleaning this vibe sucks. Nonetheless, I do really like this vibrator and its good qualities totally override the cleaning issues, especially as I don’t share the Isla with anyone else. Therefore, I highly recommend it…if you don’t mind the hassle of cleaning it.

You can find the LELO Insignia Isla at EdenFantasys. I suggest you hurry and head over there because right now the LELO Insignia line is on sale for 20% off! The entire LELO Insignia line doesn’t go on sale terribly often so it’s a good time to pick up one of the vibrators. This sale ends at 2 PM EST on Friday, 11/16/12, so go check it out now!

Je Joue Uma Review

Je Joue, the manufacturer of my lovely Ami, recently came out with a new vibrator, the Uma. Being a fan of Je Joue, I decided to review this little beauty.

Je-Joue-Uma

Unlike the Ami, which is a set of kegelcisors, the Je Joue Uma is a g-spot and clit vibrator. Like the Ami, the Uma is covered in soft, silky silicone. I love this particular silicone because it doesn’t attract lint and dust like most silicone does. It is also very smooth with less drag than most of my other silicone sex toys. Of course, silicone is great for sex toys because it is latex and phthalate-free, non-porous, hypoallergenic, and body-safe. It is easy to clean with antibacterial soap and warm water or your favorite sex toy cleaner. You can even sterilize the Je Joue Uma by washing it down with a 10% bleach solution. This allows you to share it with non-fluid bonded partners if you have the desire.

The silicone does not have much drag to it so most often my natural lubrication sufficient, but lube is always a good idea. Remember to use water-based lubricant with the Je Joue Uma as silicone-based lube can negatively react with the silicone of the toy. For this reason, be cautious in storing your Uma with other silicone sex toys. It is best to store it in its box or some sort of storage bag so you don’t run into any issues.

The Je Joue Uma is 7″ long with almost as much of it as you want being insertable. Practically though, you probably won’t insert much more than 4″ as it is meant to stimulate your g-spot. It is a slim 1.25″ in diameter and it is totally hard under its smooth silicone exterior. This makes it a great option for g-spot stimulation, especially for those who prefer firm pressure on their g-spot. The handle, or area you grip with your hand, is slightly larger in diameter at closer to 1.7″. This handle fits comfortably in my hand and makes for easy gripping.

You operate the Je Joue Uma through the use of three buttons on the bottom of the handle. Two of these buttons (the + and -) are silver in color and protrude slightly from the vibrator, while the third button (it looks like an S on its side) sits flush with the base of the toy and is the same color as the silicone. This button controls the patterns. To turn on the Je Joue Uma, you hold the + button down for two seconds. To turn off you do the same with the – button. To increase the speed, press down on the + button and to decrease the speed, press down on the – button. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

I have read some reviews (of course I read other people’s reviews!) complaining about these buttons. Some people find them very difficult to press. I do not. I do have to apply firm pressure when pressing so there’s no way I can accidentally change settings during play, which I like. The third button, however, is another story. As I mentioned before, the sideways S button controls the vibrational patterns and is SO freaking hard to push. I’m lucky I have long nails otherwise I have no idea how I would push it. Even so, if I want to use the patterns while masturbating I have to set it and forget it. It is practically impossible to switch the patterns up with the Je Joue Uma inside me or on my clit. Just forget it. It is frustrating as hell so I end up never using the patterns, which makes them practically useless. Sad. I like patterns, but I am basically forced to use the Je Joue Uma as a straight vibration toy due to my inability to press the damn S button.

Having said that, I do like the vibrations of the Je Joue Uma. They are plenty strong for me, such that while I sometimes use it on its highest level, I don’t always have to do so. I find the vibrations of the Je Joue Uma to be quite deep. They are especially rumbly on the lowest settings and increase slightly in pitch on the highest but they are far from buzzy. The Je Joue Uma is also very quiet. Even on its highest setting it can only be slightly heard under the covers and certainly not through the closed bedroom door. The lowest setting is very mild while the highest is comparable to my Leaf Fresh.

The instruction booklet claims the Je Joue Uma has seven levels of steady vibration and seven different patterns. However, I detect only five levels of steady vibration and six different patterns. I suppose the seventh is actually the steady vibrations.
1. Fast pulse
2. Escalating
3. Medium pulse
4. Faster pulsing
5. Longer pulsing
6. Slow, long pulsing

One thing I really love about the Je Joue Uma is that it is great for using during penetrative sex, especially during doggy style and anal. The longer handle makes it easy to hold against my clit while my partner enters me from behind. It is much easier to do this with the Je Joue Uma than a smaller clit vibrator because of the length of the handle. This is a really good way for me to get some clit stimulation during penetration. As a g-spot vibrator, the Je Joue Uma does an adequate job. I prefer toys with a more extreme curve but the hardness works well at stimulating my g-spot. I really like the combination of using the Uma against my clit, then slipping it inside to rub my g-spot, then moving it back to my clit. I am a clit-oriented girl after all.

The Je Joue Uma is rechargeable, which I totally adore. Even better, it charges magnetically so there are no open ports to allow water in, making it 100% waterproof. You truly can wash it and submerge it without fear. The magnetic charger is very easy to align and use. The metal buttons on the bottom of the Je Joue Uma are the feeds for the charger. The charger attaches and stays on easily, and when the vibrator is charging the small heart on the underside of the handle flashes red. When fully charged, this light will glow steadily. A two hour charge will provide approximately two hours of play time.

Like other Je Joue sex toys, the Uma comes in quite nice packaging. The outer box is lightweight cardboard, and in my case, purple. The inner box is hard and sturdy and good for storage. This box holds the Uma, its charger, and an instruction manual in six languages that explains Uma’s one year warranty and among other things.

Je Joue Uma Pros:
• Rumbly vibrations
• Easy to use during penetration
• Great silicone
• Waterproof
• Rechargeable

Je Joue Uma Cons:
• Middle button (patterns) is basically useless during play
• No storage bag

Just as I really liked the Je Joue Ami, so do I like the Je Joue Uma. The Uma is more than strong enough for me with its deep vibrations. It is easy to manage during sex and I love its silky silicone. The fact that it is waterproof makes cleaning worry-free and gives it versatility. As it is rechargeable I can use it as long as I want without having to worry that I’m running down the batteries. My only real complaint is that stupid middle S button. It is so difficult to use that I just don’t bother, which creates an unnecessary limitation with this vibrator. If it weren’t for this button, I would probably give the Uma 4 beans. However, since this is a major design flaw I can only go as high as 3 beans. Nonetheless, I do still really like the vibrations of this vibrator.

You can pick up your own Je Joue Uma at EdenFantasys. They carry it in purple, lavender, and fuchsia.

Twister Massager Review

MyPleasure has recently started carrying a new line of glass sex toys called Joyful Pleasure. I really love glass toys so I was very happy to get my hands on the Twister.

Twister Glass Massager

The Twister is a hand blown glass massager that is designed in Europe and handmade in China, though Joyful Pleasure is based in California. It is made of clear glass with an opaque raised black swirl on the shaft and raised black bumps on the base. It also has a rather pronounced head. The Twister is 6″ in length from the bottom of the handle to the top of the scored head. Approximately 4.25″ of the Twister is insertable and it is 1.5″ in diameter. The handle is slightly over 1.5″ in length. According to my ancient little postage scale, it weighs about 10.5 ounces, so it is a hefty little thing.

Joyful Pleasure’s packaging is quite simple. The Twister comes in a cardboard box with a little window on the front through which you can see the toy. The box also has images of the Twister on both sides and text on the back with a fair amount of information. It is quite clear this box houses a sex toy so you may not want to leave it laying about where just anyone can see it.

According to the back of the Joyful Pleasure box, the Twister is fracture-resistant. I assume this is due to type of glass from which it is made. However, there is no further information on the box or the website for me to share with you.

Twister Packaging

Twister Packaging

Twister Packaging

Twister Packaging

Glass is a really awesome material for sex toys for so many reasons. It is latex and phthalate-free, non-porous, body-safe, and hypoallergenic. While people can develop allergies to some of the materials used to make sex toys, I have yet to run across someone who is allergic to glass. Glass is super easy to clean as well. You can simply wash it with antibacterial soap and warm water, your favorite sex toy cleaner, a 10% bleach solution, or wash it in the dishwasher. Just be careful when handling it as you don’t want to bang it against hard objects, like sinks or counters. I know the Twister is supposed to be fracture-resistant but that doesn’t mean you want to go around banging it against things. Another wonderful thing about glass is that is it compatible with all lubricants so you can use whatever type of lube you want with your Twister.

Glass is also great for sensation play, something that I really enjoy. You can quickly and easily change the temperature of your Twister by running it under hot or cold water or soaking it in a bowl of either. The glass will hold the temperature for a good while before it slowly adjusts to your body temperature.

The biggest issue with glass is that it needs to be stored carefully. I prefer padded storage bags and I wish the Twister came with one. Right now, I am storing it inside its box and that has been fine. You just want to make sure you are careful with your Twister when storing it. Also be sure to look it over carefully before and after use. If you do find any cracks or chips, dispose of it. Do not use a glass sex toy that shows any sort of damage. Having said this, I own quite a few glass sex toys and I have never damaged a single one.

One of the main reasons I was interested in this particular piece from Joyful Pleasure was the handle. The Twister has a small off-center handle which is designed to allow you to twist the Massager inside of you. This seems good in theory and was the entire reason I wanted to try out this Massager. The Twister looks like other glass dildos I’ve seen that are often called “juicers”. I had always assumed this was because you would twist them around like you would a juicer. Unfortunately, the handle does not work well for twisting or “juicing” for me at all. Trying to twist the massager is just too awkward and I cannot get any motion going in this manner. The motion just ends up being very jerky and not at all smooth. In fact, I get really frustrated every time I try to spin the Twister inside me. I can’t make it work and it drives me crazy. I’m not sure if I am just too uncoordinated to make this work right or if the Twister really is meant to be used with a partner. The handle is super awesome for thrusting though, which I hadn’t bothered considering before using it. I was just so excited about the juicing aspect.

Twister

Twister

Twister

Some people may consider 4.25″ too short to mbe a good dildo. It is short, but what is great about this length is that I can thrust the Twister as hard as I want without coming close to hitting my cervix.

As it has a flared base, the Twister can also be used anally. The short length makes it good to use as a plug but it will probably be to short to stimulate a man’s prostate if you were to want to use it that way. You can sterilize your Twister with the previously mentioned 10% bleach solution which make switching between anal and vaginal use easy as pie. Of course, using a condom anally will also make this very easy to do. Using condoms with your Twister or sterilizing it will also allow you to use it between partners.

Twister Pros:
• Glass
• Handle
• Pronounced head
• Good for sensation play
• Can be used vaginally and anally

Twister Cons:
• Doesn’t twist for me
• No storage bag

While I was disappointed with the lack of actual twisting, the handle on the Twister is pretty great for thrusting, and my issues may be user error. The handle makes a short dildo seem not so short in use. As I have mentioned, glass is excellent for a variety reasons and I love sensation play. I’m particularly fond of cold play. The Twister is attractive and seems well-made. The shape works well for me, especially the pronounced head of the massager. I’m disappointed there is no storage bag included. I know, I always say that, but it’s even more important when the sex toy is made of glass. Overall, the Twister is a nice little massager that can be used either vaginally or anally which makes it quite versatile.

I am a bit conflicted on how to rate the Twister. An important part of this type of toy is the twisting motion which was a total failure for me. However, it does end up working well in other ways. If it weren’t for the twisting fail I’d give the Twister four beans, but it loses one bean due to that disappointment.

You can pick up your own Twister as well as check out the other Joyful Pleasure massagers at MyPleasure. Plus, right now you will receive a free Sensual Essence Silk Lubricant with your Joyful Pleasures purchase!

Dual Action Hummingbird Vibrator Review

A very popular sub-category of sex toys is the rabbit, or dual action, vibrator, and thanks to MyPleasure I’ve had the opportunity to test the Dual Action Hummingbird Vibrator.

Dual Action Hummingbird Vibrator

The Dual Action Hummingbird Vibrator is made in Taiwan by California Exotics. As usual with CalExotics, the packaging is extremely cheap and non-discreet. It is a simple, lightweight cardboard box with a life-sized image of the vibrator on three of the four sides. The fourth side has text that describes the toy. Inside the box the Dual Action Hummingbird sits in an equally cheap plastic compartment with a taped on lid.

Made of TPR, the Dual Action Hummingbird is latex and phthalate free. TPR, or thermoplastic rubber is a soft, pliable, rubbery material that always reminds me of gummy candy. It is somewhat porous so I recommend using a condom when sharing between partners or using it for both anal and vaginal play. However, as this is a rabbit vibrator, I think using a condom would sort of defeat the purpose so I suggest only sharing your Dual Action Hummingbird with partners with whom you are fluid bonded. I also do not recommend this vibrator for anal play. Though it will not get sucked up inside you, I once broke a similar vibrator with a rotating shaft using it anally. I don’t think they can really take the abuse.

The TPR of the Dual Action Hummingbird is clear! I love this. I get to see all the cool gizmos inside. The downside is I want to cut it open and take it apart, but I won’t. I. Am. Resisting. Temptation. The battery compartment and the hard plastic inside the first third shaft have silver sparkles, which is also a nice touch.

The Dual Action Hummingbird is 10″ long, with approximately 6″ insertable, and 1 1/2″ in diameter. The clear TPR makes this vibrator look thicker than it really is and it does give quite a lot as well, especially as the TPR is only solid in the head of the shaft.

Instead of the typical rabbit found on many rabbit vibrators, the Dual Action Hummingbird has, yep, you guessed it, a hummingbird. It has squishy little wings to stimulate your labia and a stretchy nose to stimulate your clit. The shaft is in the shape of a penis with a well-shaped head. It is very squashable and giving, and not at all hard so it feels quite good inside me.

The hummingbird is well situated for my body. As the entire bird vibrates very strongly, I think it would work for most women even if you need to reach down and press it against your clit. It is very flexible and moves easily. Pressing the hummingbird against my body increases the sound of the motor, but the vibrations are very powerful. They are not super deep but also not as buzzy as many dual action vibrators I’ve tried. However, if you’re looking for deep and rumbly, you won’t find those vibrations in the Dual Action Hummingbird.

What’s great about this vibrator is that the shaft rotates and the hummingbird vibrates. Not only that but each part of the Dual Action Hummingbird has three separate functions. The shaft rotates in three different ways:
1. Full circle rotation
2. Half circle rotation, slow
3. Quarter circle rotation, fast

The Hummingbird has three vibrational patterns.
1. Steady vibration
2. Slow pulse
3. Fast pulse

As it’s a rotating vibrator, I don’t do much thrusting with the Dual Action Hummingbird but it is certainly soft enough to do so. I love a vibrator that rotates and these rotations are on the strong side. However, they are not very wide and I would prefer more movement. I can really feel the fixed beads as they rotate and rub against me internally. Unfortunately, with the first rotation pattern, the full rotation, the TPR on the shaft can get twisted as it rotates which basically shuts the motor down. The best way to untwist it is by going to the second rotation pattern. This twists the shaft in the opposite direction. I have a tendency to clamp down on vibrators when they’re inside me and this also stops the rotation and shuts the motor down.

The control panel on the Dual Action Hummingbird Vibrator is very simple to use. There are six buttons. There are two buttons that control the rotation speed, two buttons that control the levels of vibration, and an on/off button. The sixth “F” button, controls the different patterns for each function. Press the F button while the shaft is rotating and it moves to the next rotation pattern. It works the same for the hummingbird as well. If both parts of the vibrator are on it matches up the rotation and vibration patterns. It’s fun just to play with the buttons and watch the vibrator whiz and whirl.

On the downside, this vibrator is LOUD. When the apartment is quiet I can hear it through the closed bedroom door, so you may need some music or TV to cover the sound of the drilling coming from your room. The other thing I find a little annoying are the red lights on the control panel. The on/off button and the up and down buttons each have a red light. These red lights are blinding. They make me see spots after looking at them. Fortunately, I don’t really have to look at them much because they are nowhere near my eyes when I’m playing.

This vibrator is not waterproof so be cautious when washing. As with all TPR you can clean the Dual Action Hummingbird with antibacterial soap and water, your favorite toy cleaning wipes or spray. You can use any type of lubricant with TPR, though I prefer water-based lubes in general.

When looking at the Dual Hummingbird’s battery compartment you can easily see why this vibrator is not waterproof. The lid of the compartment slides down easily to allow you to put the batteries inside. In fact, I can slide it down about 1/4″ just using my thumb so during rigorous play it can slide down slightly, not enough to effect the batteries or play time but certainly enough to allow fluids inside. Fortunately, the Dual Hummingbird has a thick TPR lip at the base of the vibrator right above the battery door. This makes sure no bodily fluids breach the battery compartment.

Inside the battery compartment go your four, yep four, AA batteries. I have some trouble getting that first battery in and out because it goes all the way in the back. Of course, it’s possible that I’m just really uncoordinated. The batteries do fit in snugly so even when the compartment door is off you can be sure they are going nowhere. Remember to always store your Dual Hummingbird Vibrator without the batteries inside. This will lengthen the life of your batteries and your vibrator.

Dual Action Hummingbird Vibrator Pros:
• Looks cool
• Rotates
• Dual stimulation
• Fits my body well

Dual Action Hummingbird Vibrator Cons:
• Very loud
• Gets twisted
• Blinding red light

While I wish there was more range in the rotation, I have to admit the Dual Action Hummingbird Vibrator has brought me to orgasm very quickly each and every time so it definitely does the job. However, I do have to downgrade it for its annoying habit of twisting up and getting stuck. That just kills the mood for me every time. The extreme noisiness is not a great thing either. Though I do like the vibrator quite a bit, the twisting is a major flaw and I think it’s overpriced for what it is.
