Breast cancer effects many of us. My grandmother died from breast cancer and my aunt is a two time survivor. I saw what they both suffered and how drastically breast cancer changed their lives. Everyone I know has at least one personal story about breast cancer. I don’t know anyone who hasn’t been impacted, directly or indirectly.

Though breast cancer awareness needs to be in our minds year round, it generally isn’t. However, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s a time when breast cancer education runs rampant and people come out in full force to remember and support those who have had and are currently suffering from this disease.

It is also a time when vendors show their support by donating money to breast cancer organizations. I want to take a moment to congratulate those in our community who are taking the time this month and investing the money to support breast cancer awareness and those affected.
